Chapter eight - The detective and the teacher

Sugawaras POV:

"Hey Tendo how you feeling today?", I ask tendo who comes and sits on my lap looking a little pale, he was off sick for the past few days, I'm just a little worried that he's still not feeling well.

"I'm okay sugawara sempi, just sleepy", he says while rubbing his eyes and making themselves comfy on my lap.

I feel a little tug on my shoulder and I look to my right to see tobio frowning at me, I give him a little smile and ask, "what's wrong tobio? What's with the frowny face".

He crosses his arms and tilts his head at me, "oikawa sempi?".

I smile at him, it's been about a week after oikawa told us about what went down in his past, and when I tell you he's been avoiding iwaizumi like the plague, I'm not joking.

Whenever I take tobio to the door to hand him over to iwaizumi, I can always see the disappointment in his face when he sees me at the door and not oikawa. Oikawa hasn't been to bad all week, he's just been a little on edge about his inevitable future confrontation with iwaizumi.

But today he has the day off, which means he doesn't have to avoid iwaizumi, but that doesn't mean tobio don't ask about him all the time.

"He's at home today tobio, he will be back tomorrow", I say while giving him a pat on the head, "anyway we're having a new child come in, maybe you can make friends with him".

He scrunches his face up and shakes his head, "want oikawa sempi", god this kid really became attached to oikawa didnt he.

"He'll be here on Friday okay tobio, only one day away", he gives me a little pout and just walks away, god what am I going to do with these iwaizumis.

*ding dong*

Ohh that must be my new child, I stand up with Tendo still in my arms, I see kiyoko at the door letting them in, oh seems like it's a dad again.

Kiyoko opens the door to reveal a ginger haired boy about the same size as Yaku walks though the preschool door.

He has a big smile on his face and seems to be dragging someone in the room with him, "shoyo, please be careful, your pulling my arm off here".

I look up to see a buff black haired male... okay what's with all these dads looking hot as hell, seriously where does Kiyoko find them.

Well might as well introduce myself, "Hi there I'm sugawara, I'll be your sons pre-school teacher", I say holding out my free hand that's not holding Tendo.

He takes his dark brown eyes off his son and directs them my way, "wow", he says while looking at me, my face flushes red at his choice of words and I try to look anywhere but his face.

"Oh my god, I'm sorry I never normally, I'm sorry", I giggle at him tripping over his words, "let me start over, I'm Sawamura Daichi, it's nice to meet you".

He puts his hand out towards me and we both shake hands, "it's nice to meet you Dachi, and who might you be?", I say while looking down at the ginger haired boy who seems to be quite interested in his whole surroundings.

He looks up at me with a glimmer in his eyes, "I'm shoyo, can I go play please?", he says while looking up at his dad, dachi sighs and bends down to shoyos level, "remember what we talked about".

He nods at dachi and jumps into his arms giving his dad a big hug, I smile at the action in front of me at how cute it is. As I'm watching the two in front of me I feel something grab at my leg, I look down to see tobio at my side looking extremely curious at shoyo.

Shoyo gets off his dad and was about to run away to go play, but is halted by tobio giving him a icy glare, "tobio be nice, this is shoyo he's new here just like you was", I say while stroking his hair.

He looks up at me and looks back at the ginger haired boy, tobio then scurrys off somewhere but is back in no time holding a soft volleyball which the children can use outside.

He holds it out in front of him and looks away sheepishly, "play?", he asks shoyo in a timid tone, shoyos eyes glimmer at the sight of the volleyball in front of him and repeatedly nods his head.

"Come on tobio, let's play", shoyo says while dragging tobio to the outside area which I opened to let them have free play.

"He sure is a lively one isn't he", I say looking back over at dachi who already seems to be looking at me, the action causes me to blush. "Oh ummm yeah he's always been like that, he's a ball of energy that honestly doesn't stop", he says while rubbing his neck.

"Don't worry Tendo here is just the same, he's just under the weather today aren't you sweetheart", I say stroking his hair back, I'm going to have to call his parents soon he's heating up again.

"Oh I'm meant to tell you his mum is picking him up later on as I'm working late, her name is yui", oh so he has a wife... good to know.

"What do you do if you don't mind me asking?", I ask as I go to put Tendo down on the pillow area as he's seemed to fall asleep, "I'm a detective in the city", wow okay...

"Oh shoot, I'm sorry I've got to run my shift starts in half an hour, will he be okay?", he asks me looking for him outside, I smile and nod, "he will be fine he's in good hands, now go mr detective", I say shoing him out the door, I hear him laugh at me and say.

"It was lovely to meet you sugawara, I'll see you soon", he says while giving me a little wave and I give him one straight back, "goodbye dachi".

It was definitely lovely to meet you.
