'Technoblade,'  he told himself, 'Just leave it be and you won't have to deal with problems that you could have possibly prevented.'

Day after day, he left the necklace that Sally gave him, on his bedside table, untouched and unworn. Of course, every time when he looked at it, there was this urge to put it on, to see if it would glow pink and gold again when he touched the water. There was so much "unknown" to this little piece of jewelry, making it magical and mysterious. It made him want to experiment with it, to go into water with the necklace one more time, to experience that unreal, magical feeling just one more time. And for once in his life, Techno felt foolish; he was acting like Aurora in Sleeping Beauty, letting the urge to touch the spindle get the better of her, forcing her to sleep for a hundred years.

And, like Aurora in Sleeping Beauty, he too let this urge get the better of him. And he was sure that this decision was going to cause him life-long regrets and consequences. Of course, it probably wasn't being forced to sleep for a hundred years until a prince comes, but there will be a curse through this foolish decision, and he was certain of it, even before it happened.

One evening after fencing practice, when his muscles were burning from being overworked and everything was aching, he longed to take a bath. It had just so happened, that when he put away his fencing sword and pulled a towel from the pile, that the shiny necklace caught his eye. After a mental debate of "should I" and "should I not," he made a decision. And it was probably one of the worst ones in his life. Against his better judgement, he snatched the necklace, put it around his neck, and drew himself a bath.

Slowly, Techno eased his lower body into the bathtub, aching muscles groaning and relaxing under the warm water. When nothing happened, Techno continued lowering himself into the water, the warm lapping of the running water reaching his necklace. Once again, nothing happened. So, Techno started counting.

When he reached 28 and still nothing happened, Techno felt the urge to throw the necklace away. He couldn't help but feel disappointed. He wanted to see the magical glow again! Was all of this just a waste? Did he need to go back to the moon-pool again? Just then, when he reached 30, the necklace started glowing.

Technoblade stared at it, once again mesmerized. Pink and gold rays shot out of the necklace, like it did at the cave, dancing on the bathroom walls and creating patterns on the bath water.

Techno relaxed to the gentle glow of the necklace, watching entranced, as its rays reflected off of the gentle ripples in the bathtub. It was like a relaxing light show, and Techno felt as if everything was wonderful and tranquil.

That was, until his whole body started glowing pink.

It started with his fingertips, the pink glow outlining his long fingers. Then, it started outlining his entire body. It was as if pink, glowing thread was being sewed along his torso and his legs, making him glow. It was not long before his entire body was engulfed with the bright pink light. Technoblade squeezed his eyes shut, shielding his eyes from what might happen next.

A few seconds passed. Or maybe a minute. Technoblade wasn't counting. He was terrified. Did the necklace try to kill him? Was he dead? Cautiously, he opened his right eye, just a little bit. Then he opened it a little bit more. Then he opened both of his eyes to see-

"Scales?" Technoblade questioned out loud, and instantly regretted saying anything because of the terrible soundproofing in their house.

"WHO'S SCALES?" Technoblade heard Tommy screaming from outside his room.

"NONYA BUSINESS," Techno shouted back.

Technoblade looked back at his legs. Well, where his legs used to be. They had morphed into a fish-like tail, and where his feet would normally be was a pair of fins. The entire tail itself was a rose gold color, and it reflected, and even glowed, in the bathroom light.

He experimentally raised his tail and splashed like an upside down fish. Surprisingly, (or maybe not surprisingly, considering the sheer size of his tail,) it made a huge splash and sprayed half of the water out of the bathtub. Techno winced. It was going to be a pain to clean up.

Techno tried to stand, like a human, to see if he could walk, or at least act naturally in case someone were to catch him in this strange mermaid state. Heck, he didn't even know who to tell or if he should tell anyone about this new discovery at all.

'This,' Technoblade thought, 'Is going to be a problem.'

And he was right.
