Touya's POV:

I couldn't take it anymore. He puched me again, right in the chest.

"Useless child! You had so much potential!" Endeavour yelled at me before pushing me to the ground with his foot. He put more weight on it, I swear he broke my rib-

"You had such powerful flames!" he barked on, "Too bad you can't handle a little heat." He lifted me up by my shirt and whispered into my ear, "Why couldn't you be like Shoto?"

I growled. I hated when he said that. If he loved precious little Shoto so much why did he beat him up? What was the point of abusing his youngest son if he was going to be number one?
What was the point... of even training me? If I was so usless?

He hit me, again, and again, and again. Sometimes I think he just tormented me for the fun of it.  Oh who am I kidding, of course he beats me up for the fun of it. A painful reminder that I am just a failure.

About half an hour into training, we were interupted by a loud scream.

"Ow! Muma, please stop! It hurts... IT HURTS!" it sounded like... Shoto??! What was happening?

I summoned all the energy I had left and ran, more like limped, out of the training room. I was expecting Enji to pull me back, but surprisingly he didn't.

I followed the sound of crys, which eventually lead me to the kitchen. I covered my mouth in suprise.

I saw Fuyumi, my little sister, holding Shoto in her arms. And on the other side of the room, Nastuo was with mum, and she was holding something in her hand.

"Why would you do that?!" Nastuo screamed at mum. I got angry. I wanted to yell at Natsuo for yelling at mum, but I didn't want to scare her. Ma was already a sobbing mess. So instead I walk over to Shoto and Fuyumi.

Shoto was crying into Fuyumi's chest, clutching his face while whimpering, "Yumi, it h-hurts. Wh-why did she d-do that-t?"

"Shh, it's okay Sho," she whispered to him before looking up at me.

I frowned as I crouched next to her, "What happened?" I asked softly, jerking my head in our little brothers direction.

Fuyumi sighed, "I don't know the full details, but I walked in here to find Shoto on the ground," she struggled to hold back tears, "Mum was in the corner with a kettle in her hand. Next thing I know, Nat storms in and screams at her."

My eyes winden when she mentioned the kettle. I look at poor little Shoto, head in his hands, and fear for the worst. Hesitantly, I take Sho away from Yumi and into my arms. Shoto slowly looks at me, his hand still holding the left side of his face.

I look at him, signalling for him to take his hands off his face. He looks down at the ground, before slowly moving his hands to reveal a scarlet red burn covering the upper left portion of is face. His normally bright turquiose eye was squeezed shut, while his grey right eye was still glossy from tears.

He looked back up at me, "It hurts, i-it hurts s-so much! H-how do you t-take that every d-day, T-Touya?"

I stare at him. Why was he asking me how I managed? He gets the worst treatment from Endeavour by far! And yet he's still calling me strong...

Suddenly someone stomped their way through the kitchen and pushed Nastuo to the ground. It was Enji.

"WHAT THE FUCK YOU WICTH!" he roared, grabbing mum's hand and pulling her out of the room, "I'll make sure you pay for this."

"I'm sorry!" Mum yelped as 'father' dragged her further and further away, "I didn't mean it, I swear! I-it was too m-much for me! He looked t-too much like y-you..."

Nastuo came over to join us, gulit washing over him. I smiled at him, knowing that he probably didn't mean it. He shyly smiled back. We turned our attention back to Shoto, still crying although not as much as before.

"What are we going to do?" Fuyumi whispered to us.

I stand up, "It's obvious? We're going to take Sho to a hospital-"

"We can't do that!" Nat intervened, "Dad'll kill us!"

"So what?!" I argued back, "Shoto just got a giant third-degree burn on his face!"

"Touya, it's fine..." I look down to see Shoto clutching my shirt, "I don't want you guys to get involved." Damn it's hard to believe that this kid's only 5 years old.

"Besides, the docters and poilce won't believe us," Fuyumi said, "Who would believe some kids over the No.2 Hero?"

I clentched my fists and growled softly. I know they're right, but I wanted to make Endeavour suffer! I wanted to make sure he gets what he deserves.

"Tch, you're right," I admmit. I then look at Shoto, "But all matters aside, we need to bandage you up!"

And for the first time today, Sho smiled.

Shoto's POV:

It's been a while since Muma left with Father. I honestly don't blame her for what happened eariler, I just blame Father. I can't believe people call him a hero. What kind of hero abuses two of his kids? What kind of hero ingores his other children and label them as failures? What kind of hero drives their wife to insanity? Certainly not a real hero.

Nastuo finishes bandanging my face while Fuyumi patches up Touya. I look up to Touya a lot. Always standing up for us, protecting us. Taking in all that stuff Father does to him. I should be the only one he has to beat up, I'm the 'masterpiece' after all, my siblings don't have to go through hell with me.

"All done Sho!" Nastuo announces, "Should be as good as new!" I know that's a lie, I see the doubt in his eyes. It's probably going to leave a scar, but so what? It's not like I already have plenty of those...

I still smile at him, "Thanks Nat."

We hear something, more like someone, stomp through the house and agressively opens the door. "Shoto. Training room. Now," Father grumbles. I look back at my siblings, who are giving me a worried look.

I see Touya about to say something, but interupt him, "-Of course, Father,"

I walk behind Father, not daring to look back at the concered looks of Fuyumi, Nastuo's scared expression, and Touya's panicked stare.

After I walk into the training room Father slams the door shut. "Where is she?" I asked firmly, even though I was scared.

"Who are you talking about?" He questioned, really acting like he had no idea.

"Mum. Where is she?" I say again louder.

Endeavour only chuckled. "Oh, that old hag. Don't worry. I sent her to a mental hospital, where she can spend time with other crazy people like herself."

I gasped and looked at him, "That's what she gets for hurting my masterpiece." he stated.

I felt tears running down my face, "You're the one who mad her hurt me," I gritted through my teeth.

I felt the stong of a slap aross my right cheek, "Crying is for the weak," Father growled. This is going to be a long day...
