Batman: Knight of Arkham (Crossover Part 2)

Barbara Tells Jim

(9 months had gone by)

(Batman had searched everywhere but the Joker was no where to be found, he was definitely planning something, something big)

(Though focusing on finding Joker was extremely important, it distracted Batman from..other potential threats)

(Pauli's Diner)

Waitress: "So what'll it be? The usual?"

Officer Owens: "Sure."

Waitress: "Chicken salad with no..dressing."

Officer Owens: "No you know what? Make it waffles. With a side of bacon. Don't tell my wife."

Waitress: "Whateva you say, Officer. Oh and if you want some more coffee just shout."

(Minutes later Owens was shouting but it had nothing to do with coffee...)

(A TV broadcast showed that the people in the Diner were exposed to a chemical that made them viciously attack each other...then a shadowy figure appeared on screens across Gotham)

Scarecrow: "This demonstration..used just five ounces of my latest toxin. Tomorrow this will seem like child's play. Gotham..this is your only warning."

(Once the evacuation was complete, the city was overrun by thugs and criminals of all sorts)

(With only one man to stand in their way)

(Jim Gordon entered the clock tower and saw Barbara working on the computer)

Gordon: "Thought I told you to evacuate with the others."

Barbara: "I know. Dad there's..something I need to talk to you about."

Gordon: "You can tell me anything, honey. You know that."

Barbara: "Okay here goes...I work with Batman...I have been for years. I..I used to be..Batgirl."

(Jim stared blankly)

Gordon: "...that's the reason Joker shot you. Isn't it?"

Barbara: "..no..no that was just a coincidence. He came after you and I just..happened to answer the door."

Gordon: "I don't buy that. Joker would do anything to get to Batman. All this time. All these years. He's been using you. Just like he's been using me."

Barbara: "No dad please..you've got this all wrong! He's the only hope our city has!"

Gordon: "...then our city was doomed a long time ago."

(An officer crawled away from a group of thugs on the street)

Officer: "No please!"

Thug: "This ain't your city anymore."

(A dark shape shot down from the sky, slamming into the pavement, a blast of energy knocked all the thugs to the ground)

(Each Thug never got the chance to stand back up as they received quick and precise blows)

(Within seconds they were all unconscious and The Batman stood in the center of the road)

(He helped up the officer)

Batman: "You're safe."

Officer: "Thanks Batman. I thought they were gonna kill me."

(A military vehicle suddenly drove straight towards them, Batman grappled himself and the officer up to a roof, just barely avoiding being run over)

Officer: "The city's overrun. We don't stand a chance."

Batman: "Stay here. I'll send someone to pick you up."

Officer: "What are you doing?"

Batman: "..evening the odds."
