(Hi everyone! This is Silentwolf42 here! Just want to let you know that this is my first Fanfic and I am so sorry if it sucks. If you do not think it sucks then THANK YOU! I love you! Not really, but you know what I mean. I guess I should just shut up now and get to a story. (Yeah!) NO ONE ASKED YOU! Heh. Heh. Ok to the story!)

Melody was never was the one to fit in. She was always called weird and made fun of by the other kids in her orphanage. She hated waking up every day and wishing she was dead. She looked down at her wrists staring up and down at all the old and new scars there. She slow moves her finger across them, feeling the bumps of scar tissue.

Melody's P.O.V.

As I sat there feeling my scars a sound come out of the speakers making me jump out of my trance, the voice started yelling "All girls from the ages 10 through 12 please come down to the interviewing room." Great I am one of the girls that have to go down there and get rejected by the parents that are looking for their 'perfect' daughter I thought to myself. Thinking like that only made me feel depressed, so I got up and put on my clothes for today. I through on some baggy jeans that had some rips in it, they were the only pair that I owned, a pink tang top, and a light weight jacket so that I can cover up my scars. I got up and head to the door to go down to the interviewing room.

While I was heading to the room all I kept on doing was breathing in and out really slow. I hate having anxiety. I kept chanting to myself "You can do it Melody. You did this like about a hundred times already. This is not different from any other. You are in then you are out."

When I looked up I was already at the interviewing room. There was a line full of girls and everyone looked excited. Of course like always I am last. Usually how it goes the parents find the one they want only half way through. That is way I like to be the last in the line. Less I have to talk to people I have to people I do not know.

I sat there for a while and strangely the line was getting smaller and smaller. My anxiety was starting to rise. I am going to have to talk to someone that did not know, I am getting scared. While I was panicking a little it was my turn. I was still in my trance so Miss. Wilson had to snap me out of it. "Melody you are next, Mr. Rogers is waiting for you." She said looking at me. When I finally got out of my trance and walked into the interviewing room.

I sat in the chair that was in front of two bigger chairs where the parents sat to interview the kids. The person sitting there this time is a tall muscular man with short blonde hair and beautiful blue eyes. I caught myself staring at him and him staring back at me straight in the eyes. I quickly turned away and looked at the walls and the floor trying not to look at him. He coughed and asked "So what is your name?" It made me jump when I heard him speak. It took me a little a bit put I finally got out the words "Melody" I said in a whisper. "Do you have a last name?" he asked. I hated that question whenever people asked me it. It just reminds me I never had a real family or real parents. I shook my head and looked up to see his reaction. He looked like he was upset, but he tried not to show it. He went to another question "How old are you?" I answered quickly and quietly "10" He nodded and looked back at me. He asked "What do you like to do in your spare time?" I looked back at him with a smile and said "I like to play the piano, sing, and draw." His eyes twinkled when I said I liked the word draw. He got up and held out his hand. I guessed he want to shack so I grabbed his hand and shook with him. He has really big hands. He said "Thank you. I was nice to meet you." I smiled back at him and "It was my pleasure." Saying take made him smile. I walked out and went straight to my room. I could felt the tears start to come. I wondered "Why I was sent away after just four questions? Did I say something wrong?" I sat in my bed started to sing a tone to calm myself down.

Steve's P.O.V

I can't seem to find the right one. All of them so fake and putting up a front. The last girl walked in. She was young, with red hair and blue eyes. She had some freckles going across her face. She looked scared and uncomfortable, different from all the other girls. When she caught me staring at her she looked away and started to look at the walls and floor. I felt like I made her more uncomfortable, so I coughed and asked her "So what is your name?" I could see I made her jump when I spooked. It took her a while to answer me back. She finally said "Melody" I was curious why she did not say her last name so I asked "Do you have a last name?" I saw she really did not like that question and just shook her head. I quickly went to a different question "How old are you?" she answered quickly saying "10". I nodded my head thinking that I was right that she was young and asked her one more question "What do you like to do in your spare time?" she smiled at me and said "I like to play the piano, sing, and draw." I got excited when she said the word draw. I love to draw. I stood up and held out my hand to shack and he did as well. I said "Thank you. I was nice to meet you." It was really nice to meet her. She replied back smiling saying "It was my pleasure." She turned around and walked out and closed the door. I whispered to myself saying "She is the one."

Melody's P.O.V

I sat there on my bed singing when I heard the door open, I quickly stopped. It was Miss. Wilson she looked very happy for some reason. She said is a soft voice "Melody you have been adopted." That would be why she was happy.....wait. "What!?" I said out loud. She said in a happy in a happy voice "Yep! Maybe this is your forever home! Go pack your things Melody!" I was still sitting there in shock when Miss. Wilson walked out of my room. I shook my head snapping myself out of my trance. I sprang out of my bed packing everything that was mine into a backpack. I really did not have much. All I had was some clothes and a small little black box. After everything was stuffed in I walked really fast down stairs to where Mr. Rogers was standing. All I could do was smile, thinking in my head "Maybe Miss. Wilson was right. He did seem nice when we talked." Mr. Rogers looked at me and said "Are you ready to go?" I looked at him with a smile and answered him "Yes." I turned around to give Miss. Wilson a hug and a farewell. I walked with Mr. Rogers to him car which was a red corvette. I stood there looking at it "Wow." I caught myself when I said that and quickly said "Did I just say that? Sorry." while I looked down at the ground. Mr. Rogers just looked at me and chuckled. Through his chuckles he said "It is ok it is pretty wow." I stared at him and started the chuckle too. When he both stopped we walked to the car and got in. I looked out the window as we were going down the road and asked "Mr. Rogers, where are we going?" Mr. Rogers said in a upbeat voice "We are going to Stark Towers."
