I returned to the crime scene after my conversation with Jack at the abandoned house. And as I arrived at the crime scene, everyone was at chaos as expected.
The body got transported to the ambulance for examination, and after what Jack did earlier, the physical body got cut in half just like the card itself as expected.
"Ms. Watson! There you are!", Jhon said as he approached me.
Since Jack said not to tell anyone about our deal, I decided to keep everything that happened earlier a secret.
"Where did you go earlier?", Jhon asked.
"I thought I saw someone suspicious, but it turned out it was just a beggar who was curious about the crime scene.", I said.
I looked at Jhon's back to pretend that I didn't know anything about what was happening, but little did he know, I already know everything.
"What's happening over there?", I asked.
"Oh yeah, I was about to say that.. The body got cut in half..", Jhon replied.
"Eh?! How?? Did someone cut it??", I asked.
"No, no.. It's just.. It got cut in half by itself.."
Jhon definitely has no idea about everything right now, but I'm also not supposed to say anything. My life is in danger, so I have to be careful at choosing my words from now on..
"Can I see?", I asked.
"Sure..", Jhon replied as he made a way for me.
Jhon made a way for me to the ambulance, but as I was about to go inside the ambulance, the Chief suddenly called out to me.
"Ms. Watson, where have you been?", the Chief asked as his voice was nearing to me from behind.
I looked back and saw him walking towards me with his hands in his pockets.
"I chased a beggar.", I replied.
"A beggar? What for?", he asked.
"Well.. I thought he was suspicious so I had to chase him, but it turned out that he was just curious about the case.."
I have to be really careful not to forget this reasoning.. If I get asked again soon and somehow forget this reason, then they'll find out that I'm hiding something..
"I see, did you check the body already?", the Chief asked.
"I was about to.. But Jhon told me that the body got cut in half by itself?", I asked.
"Yeah, it was really a shock to us. No one was close to the body besides ourselves, but the lower half got separated from the upper half all of a sudden.", the Chief said.
"We found out that it got separated when blood started flow from the body, but since it was covered we didn't see what actually happened until we uncovered it.", Jhon said.
"I see, what about the family's victim? Are they okay?", I asked.
"They still don't know that the victims body got cut in half for no apparent reason, but I also don't see the need to tell them.", the Chief said.
The Chief is right, even if we tell the victims family that the body got cut in half for 'no apparent reason', there's still no changing the fact that the victim is already dead.
"What do you suggest we do Chief?", I asked.
"I suppose we'll have to examine the body more at the lab, we'll wait for the results in the meantime.", the Chief said.
