Vampire AU: You and the Volleyball club are vampires, living among humans.

In this, the sun just weakens you. No burning, no SPARKLES, just makes you really tired.

You're crazy pale, and you crave blood, though you CAN have normal food, it tastes gross though and kinda just disappears. Blood is what you need to live.

Also, a few of the members are human, including Takeda.

Also, the first section, where it explains stuff, is in 1st person.

Blood.

That was the one thing our coven feared.

Well, feared isn't the best word. The best word would be craved. But, living around the mortals meant that all of us, to them, had a blood phobia.

We had volleyball practice during a science lab, since they were drawing blood. I took a second to look around at everyone.

Most of the the coven had coupled up by now. Nishinoya and Asahi were both turned during a fire. Sugawara was turned when he got into a car crash, and he's known Daichi forever. Tanaka and his sister Saeko had been turned after an alley fight gone wrong. Tsukki and Tadashi had both been turned at the same time, during a gang attack just two years ago. Kageyama got shot defending Hinata from the same gang. I'd smelled the blood from all three.

That was why we stuck together. We were all bonded together by our bites. I'd changed all of them, and they respected me for it. Of course, there were a few odd pairs, like Suga and Daichi. All in all, we had three human-vampire pairs.

Daichi wanted to wait until high school was over before he turned, and he'd originally wanted Suga to do it. But since Suga couldn't handle the thirst completely yet, having only been turned two years ago, I was planning to after this year.

Kiyoko was turned in the hospital, and Yachi was too scared to turn yet. Kiyoko had fallen and slammed her head against the cement. She was in a coma when I turned her, and she would have died otherwise.

Then, of course, we had Kageyama and Hinata. They'd been dating when I saved Kageyama, and Hinata had vowed to be our 'human spy' ever since, even though Kageyama kept asking him to turn.

Then, there was me. I'd been turned a long time ago, 358 years, by a man named Ikkei Ukai. His grandson, Keishin, met me several years later, and I turned him when he asked. He'd met Saeko and soon the two of them were a thing. (Before you freak out, Keishin is 26, and Saeko is 21. Small age gap, but not enough to be weird. Also I don't really ship this, but the idea is kinda cute.)

That was the first time, and it was difficult. I'd almost killed him, no immortality included. Still, it got lonely. I'd been trying not to get close to anyone, since in twenty years they'd realize I didn't age and I'd have to turn them or kill them. I didn't want that for people. The first fifty years were the hardest for control, and afterwards you just start realizing the things you can't have.

So, here I was, age 22, living with a coven of 13, most of which share the same brain cell.

You watched from the corner, like always. Normally you can trust Ukai with this stuff, but since the human members were here and, by school standards, they were all doing a separate lab with a teacher, you had to stay with them and make sure nobody got too bitey.

On the bench, Hinata ran up to Kageyama and tackled him in a hug. He stiffened and shoved Hinata back, looking the other way.

"You can't do that to me Sho," he said softly, though you could easily still hear him. "You know I can't always..."
