7:35 AM, December 1st, Monday -

I've always hated Mondays, never liked them. There was never really a specific reason why.. until now. Or at least for today, because today, I start my first day of junior year. Now I know what you're thinking, "How the hell does your school's first day of school start in December?" Well, it's only the first day for me since I recently moved all the way from Ohio to California a couple of weeks ago. My parents recently divorced, and my mom couldn't handle taking care of me and my little brother alone while working 10 hours a day so, we had to move to California by all our other family members to help.

"Jovie! It's almost 8:00, you better be ready we have to leave soon" my mother shouted all the way from the kitchen.

I quickly finished up my makeup, touching up any smudgy spots and brushed out my hair one last time. I took a quick look at myself in the mirror, trying to gain the right amount of confidence to survive this day. I rushed down stairs, grabbing my backpack, and hopped into the front seat of my moms black SUV. During the ride to school,  my heart was pumping out of my chest, I felt like I was going to throw up while my anxiety was slowly creeping up on me like some poisonous spider.
"Okay, we're here Jovie, do you have everything?"
"..Yeah.. I think.. at-least I hope so." I hesitatingly reply.
I quickly hop out of the car feeling embarrassed my mother still drives me to school while all the other juniors and seniors get to drive their own cars. Walking to the front door of my school I already feel people judging me left to right, I watch my every movement making sure people don't have anything bad to say about the way I'm walking or how I'm dressed. I was distractingly looking at my phone until..fuck.. I bumped into someone, but not just anyone, "Yasmin" and her gang of girls ready to almost jump me. I hesitate, my heart beating fast,

"Oh- my God I apologize I wasn't paying attention at all.."
"Yeah, you obviously weren't." Yasmin snarled
Her other friends just laughed to the side as they all walked past me, bumping into both of my shoulders. It's literally only the first few seconds of school and I already made a complete fool out of myself. As I walk forward trying to find my locker, a brunette girl with wavy curls stops me, gently tapping me on the shoulder.

"Hi! My name is Samantha Larusso..! I assume you're Jovie, right? I'll be navigating you around the school for a couple of days."
I give a warm smile, "Uh- yes, yes hi I'm Jovie Marshalls, nice to meet you."

"Listen, I saw you talking to those girls over there, Yasmin and her nasty group, don't even bother to become friends with any of them, I did a little while back and I regret it everyday since"

I laugh, "Trust me, I don't think you'll have to worry about any of that.

Sam chuckles, "Alright then! Shall we start the tour?"

Sam and I go around the school constantly talking and talking the whole time it felt so nice to make conversation with someone else other than my Mom and my little brother.

"Right over here is the cafeteria." Sam says, "You can sit with me and my other friends today, I'll introduce you to all of them."

I smile while glancing over an attractive guy talking with a few other girls. He seems to have the cutest smile and I cant help but be amused by him. Sam catches me with concerned look on her face and rushes me to walk the other direction.
"Hey wait." I stop her. "Who's that guy over there? Talking to those girls?"
"Oh- um.. Robby Keene. He's uh- I used to know him...I guess."
Robby looks over at us staring at him and rolls his eyes eventually walking away. Sam gets anxious and gestures me to move along. I follow her, but in my mind still wondering about him..Robby Keene.. even his name is hot I think to myself.
