Dreich

It was one bright and sunny day in Sanctuary Islands. The mantas are flying around peacefully while the crabs sleep in their caves. The serene atmosphere was shattered when a shout was heard.

"ARK, WATCH OUT!"

A tall figure quickly flew up, wearing the red Dreams season pants and a yellow overcoat cape. His face is showing a worried expression, teeth gritted tightly in concern. His gaze follows the falling figure from above, mixed emotions circling around a single golden orb.

He catches the figure just on time, embracing the other tightly in his arms and they both landed safely on the ground. Letting out a sigh of relief, he then glared down coldly at the person in his arms, who looks away with cold sweat. Not wanting to  look back at his furious beloved.

"Jin... I-I'm sorry." Ark curses in his mind for stuttering like that. He can feel that Jin is genuinely upset right now. Usually he only received a stern scolding from the other then a head pat but that's it. Jin will continue to smile at him again after that as if nothing happened. It frustrates him to no end sometimes when he thinks that his beloved does not have the ability to get angry at him. Then the thought escalates to 'maybe he doesn't care' to 'maybe he doesn't love me'. Sucks to have an overthinking brain sometimes.

So several days ago, he devised a plan to make his beloved angry. Yes he wanted to see him get mad at him, to see that he cares. The plan was risky because it involves him falling down from a high place, going far as to ruin his own cape, with basically no way of saving himself. He made sure that Jin is always there to see him fall so he could catch him when he falls. Ark repeated this risky plan several times until he got a reaction from his quiet beloved. After falling down several times and getting snatched midair by his significant other, he finally got a reaction from him. They got into a heated argument that time and Jin walked out at him after putting a large crack on the wall with his fist. They didn't talked for a week after that.

Ark was very sad after their arguement and he was a bit scared at what happened. Jin slamming his fist against the wall angrily was engraved in his mind. Flashbacks of their arguement kept repeating in his mind and he blamed his foolishness for what occurred between him and his beloved. After a lonely week of grief and sadness, he got surprised when someone hugged him from behind. A soft but deep voice whispering in his ear.

"Ark..."

The gloominess sorely evident in a voice he knows oh-so-well.

He turns around and hugs the person back tightly, burying his face against his beloved's shoulders and keeps uttering apologies. His body trembling slightly against the other. Yes, that's how much his beloved can affect him. Jin embraces him just as tight, comforting and whispering sweet things to Ark. They stayed like that for a while until Ark calms down.

No, he didn't cried. Not at all.

Okay maybe he shed a tear or two but that's it. All that matters is that they made up. His beloved apologized for his behavior that time, saying he won't do it again and all that. What Ark didn't expect is what happened next. He felt his beloved's hand cupped his cheek. He leans towards the touch by instinct and he looks straight to his beloved's, shimmering gold eye. He can see the love and affection his beloved has for him.

Jin's face starts to lean closer to Ark's, stopping only when their face are only centimeters apart. Dark amber eyes stares back intensely at a single golden eyes, the other covered by an eyepatch lined with silver, intricate designs.

"Don't do that stunt again..." Jin's sentence trails off as their lips touches. Ark wraps his arms around his beloved's neck and deepens the kiss. Let's just say they shared a lovely night after that.
