Catching her breath as she took small blows of oxygen out of her nose, her shivering had now become uncontrollable. Although her eyes were an ordinary colour of brown, there were pools of emotion that swirled through them now flowing down her pale face that was once full of colour. As she brought her knees in closer to her, she clenched her legs with a tight grip, blowing off the strand of her hay like hair, disrupting her vision. Slowly as the sun simmered down exploding its colours to every inch of the city, she could just about see the the sky engulfing the presence the sun had left. Fingertips blue, face dry and head confused, Aliyah shifted back, the rocks on the floor pinched at her as it caught onto the fabric of her trousers. Freeing her legs, she placed her hand on the ground and shuffled further back until her bones hit the cold wall and instantly sending shivers throughout her body causing her tiniest of hairs to stand up. Aliyah lifted her head up and realised she was under a tiny cover and she was thankful for it as she felt a small trickle of water run down her ankles. After a few minutes later, the pitter patter continued and it was like drums invading her ears personal space. People rushing from left to right, stopping cabs, holding their children trying to get home as quick as possible.
No one noticed her, so she pretended not to notice them.
As the rush around her seemed to proceed; finding a blurry vision and then pitch black, she had closed her eyes and imagined. Imagined herself in a room with a bright chandelier hanging above her head, spitting rays of light to each gold handle they hanged upon-although they were rusty they seemed like they were brand new. Turning her head left digging her chin into the deep gap in her collarbone she'd imagined a perfectly craved wooden table with floral designs on the legs and a powerful smell invading her nostrils, inviting her in. Lifting her chin back up, it was as if she'd accepted. Briskly running her hands down her patched up trousers, she'd pretended her rough hands were gliding on the silk of her newly bought dress with lace imprinted all over at the bottom. She'd felt a touch of someones hand. A cold shaking hand. She wasn't imagining anymore. Without a second later passing by, her eyelids had flung open and woman with tears streaming down her face grasped her hand without the intention of letting go. Pulling away Aliyah asked frantically "who are you? Why are you grabbing my hand"
The woman searched hurriedly in her bag without speaking. In that time Aliyah looked her up and down and saw her wearing a dress and a cheap coat trying to cover an expensive dress like that. Why would she try that? Her face then gazed onto the woman's face. They'd looked incredibly similar. Both their tight curls bounced even in the slightest movement of their head and their eyes, big and brown along with their eyelashes complimenting the mood of what their eye colour brought. Without realising, the woman had finished searching and had a purse in her hand. Shaking, she grabbed Aliyah's hand again. She didn't resist it. Ripples of the rain that was on her hand had now trickled onto Aliyah's fingertips. "Please take this. You know what to do. I can't do it anymore" She trembled as her lips quivered and her eyelashes clumping together from the tears that had washed over them. Aliyah couldn't help but feel sympathy for the woman. A woman she didn't know. A woman who needed help.
"Who are you?" Aliyah questioned as she tried to look in to her eyes by shifting her head to the side.
"Im Grace Todely. And I also can't be here anymore. Im sorry. Take care of yourself. I think you're perfect" Letting go. Grace gave her a smile which creased the side of her lips and sniffling, she then plodded off looking back frantically. Not at Aliyah but further behind her. Aliyah peered to the side to glare at what she was glaring at such a paranoid way. She turned about to ask her what had caught her eye but before she knew she was gone as she blended in with the mist that devoured the rest of the city.
Later on in the night at about 8 pm, the rain had still not stopped and Aliyah was getting bored and her bum was starting to lose sensation. Tucking her loose hair behind her ear and ready to get soaked, she stood up and crossed her arms and marched outside of her safe place. She was meant to feel freedom but all she felt was her clothes slowly drenching, washing away her sadness she had formed over that short period of time thinking about what had happened. As she started walking onto the main street, Aliyah started getting curious as to why she had gave it and who she really was. Doubts emerged in her head but regardless, Aliyah opened the purse to find credit cards, cash and an ID. Thought the whole process of her search through the purse, her mouth was gradually dropping to the floor. Checking the ID it had said Grace Todely, 20 years old, and the picture was exactly like that woman. 'At least she wasn't lying' Aliyah thought. Fingers running through the cash her eyes had widened to the amount of papers she was joined with. Before she knew a splash of water had soaked though her battered shoes which weren't even a shade of colour anymore. A car had come to a halt. Aliyah readjusted her eyes-it was a limo darting through the mist then pausing right in the midst of the action. A window slid down, squeaking almost presenting it self that its clean. Aliyah shifted her head to the side ready to argue with whoever was responsible. But at the moment before the slightest bit of air seeped through her mouth the man inside the back of limo and shouted "Grace! What on earth are you wearing and out here in this rain. You're embarassing"
