The pain woke you up like usual, your fingers ached with blisters and calluses. It was a normal occurrence due to your lack of warmth; the windows had craters large enough to let the cold sneak in.
This building was an old and worn motel, so the old lady that owned the property let you sleep in at night if there was no business. Your middle finger stopped moving a week ago from frostbite and with no knowledge on the term you had no choice, but to watch it slowly eat at your flesh and smell of rancid trash.
Throwing the worn red coat off to slip on the shoes a church near by gave you, you grimaced in annoyance at your dirty appearance, it was hard to be so dirty all the time especially when those wretched cycles came around. Speaking of cycles you made a mental note to steal some sanitary napkins from the corner store up the road.
Walking with haste towards the door you yanked it open to cautiously take in your surroundings.
This part of Japan was almost as bad as the red-light district. Police never came on time and people died regularly, in order to survive you had to be sneaky. The corner store would be your first stop, you never went to the same one more than once,so you weren't caught. If you were lucky a few prostitutes would be littering the area to distract the store owner.
No one really bothered you due to your unsightly appearance. It gave some leverage and helped you survive, so you mostly stayed caked in dirt. In desperate times you thought of selling yourself for food, and biting the customers penis off to steal anything you could. Those thoughts came and left, but sometimes you couldn't help but want an easier way out.
"Y/N!" A slurred voice called from ahead. Their name was Jenny she was a transgender woman that got passed around more times than you could remember. Most times men beat her when they discovered she was once a man. You worried for Jenny, she was the only one you could really say that about.
"Jenny? Why're you out here like that?" You asked as you walked past the older woman; knowing she would simply follow you. "What do you mean?" She asked ignorantly throwing her head back to down the vile liquid. "They beat you again?" You asked taking in her unpleasant appearance. Purposely bumping the shoulder of a older man in a suit to slip his wallet out his jacket. Piece of cake.
"Y/N, they can beat me all they want, but I'm still here!" She answered in a chipper mood. You nodded in confusion. Why let someone beat you? Why not fight back? You fought all your life, so you didn't get her corny words.
Jenny smiled softly before staggering towards a young man that was passing by. Laughing to yourself to take out the stolen wallet your eyes widened at the stack of bills.
"Fuck! this guy is nuts carrying all this cash on him like that" you said in excitement.
It was one of the best steals you've had in a while. 'Guess I don't have to steal from the old man today' you thought smiling successfully
