Fear.

The sting of flesh being cut open by tree branches barely register in her mind.

Run.

Keep running.

Don't let him catch you.

Her brain can't handle any other thought process.  She doesn't feel the buildup of lactic acids in her muscles, causing her calves and thighs to feel as if they were dipped in scorching hot water.

She doesn't feel the burning in her lungs as if a hot poker was being shoved down her throat. Her breathing is irregular as short bursts of air escape her lips.  Loud gasps can be heard among the cacophony of noises from the wildlife in the woods, as well as the manmade sound of her pounding footsteps on the forest floor.

She doesn't feel the cuts littering her legs and arms from catching them on the branches that she haphazardly pushes out of her way as she runs for her life.

She knows.

She knows that if she stops then he will catch her within seconds.  So, she keeps running.

For the first time in what feels like hours, but in reality was approximately thirty minutes, she feels hope begin to bubble within her chest.  About two-hundred yards away, she can see a light from the back porch of her house shining like a beacon through the shrubs.

She feels tears of relief well up in her eyes.  She knows that as soon as she crosses that boundary line between the forest and her backyard, she will be safe.  Her father will protect her from this beast breathing down her neck.

Her vision tunnels; her eyes focusing solely on the golf ball size light in the distance.

She's so close she can taste freedom.

Despite her exhaustion, she pushes her legs harder than she has ever pushed before.

Her heart plummets to the bottom of her stomach as the world around her slows down.  One second, she was running full speed towards the light and the next she sees the trees in front of her tilt as she begins to fall forward.

Her right foot catches on a hole that she didn't notice due to her sole focus being on the light.

She puts her hands out in front of her to protect her face from the fall.  A sharp pain blooms from her wrist to her elbow, causing her to cry out as she makes contact with the moss-covered ground.

She lies face first on the forest floor, her left cheek squishing into the dirt.

She must get up.

He was right behind her.

If she doesn't get up, it will all be over for her.

She can't let him catch her.

She uses her hands to push herself up and immediately falls back down, a sharp scream escaping her chapped lips.

She sobs into the dirt.

Pain and helplessness wash over her entire being.  She hears the crunching of leaves getting closer and closer. She attempts to get herself up off the ground again, using all her weight on her uninjured wrist.

She makes it to her knees.

She looks ahead of herself and sees that the light is so close.  She can do this.  She just has to get to her feet.

A powerful force plows into her back, throwing her back down.  The air is knocked out of her as her abdomen makes contact with the forest floor once again.  She gasps for breath as a hundred and fifty pound body lays across her back, pinning her to the earth.

"I got you."  He breathes into her ear, the rumble in his chest vibrating against her back.  She shudders in disgust and begins to thrash around on the ground with what little energy she has left.

He lifts off her for a millisecond before he's grabbing her arms in a bruising grip in order to flip her body around, so that she is now laying on her back.  He looms above her, his lips twisted into a nauseating smirk.

"You're mine Lalisa."

"Dad-!"  Lisa shouts at the top of her lungs before a large hand smacks down upon her mouth with a resounding crack.  The force of the blow causing stars to explode behind her now closed eyelids.

"Shut up! No one is coming to save you. Especially not your father! He should have given you to me when he had the chance.  Now I have to take what's mine by force."  He growls, spit flying from his mouth and landing on Lisa's grime-stained face.

Lisa pleas come out as mumbles against his sweaty hand, her eyes begging him not to do this. He grinds his lower body onto hers as he gives her a wolfish grin.  "Once I'm done making you my mate, you're going to give me so many children Lalisa.  I will be the most powerful Alpha in all of Asia."

Lisa continues to thrash her body, despite the fact that it gets her nowhere.  He's too heavy for her exhausted body to even move a hair on his sweat soaked head.  Her heart stutters in her chest as she watches excess saliva fills his mouth as his canines extend into 2.5 inches.  The sharp points gleam in the moonlight, causing fear to strike Lisa's heart.

His left hand, which is still covering her mouth, applies more pressure to tilt her head up.  With that one movement, her neck is extended, allowing him access to the expanse of her unblemished neck.

Her tears fall uncontrollably down her face. She has never felt so helpless before in her life.

She failed.

She was so close to freedom and now she will never have it.  She will be enslaved to someone she does not and will never love.  The one thing she never wanted.  All she ever wished for since she was a little girl was to find the love of her life.

Now, she will be bound to another who she despises.

If Lisa wasn't completely restrained, her body would have flinched from the feeling of his sharp fangs piercing her delicate flesh.  She hears and feels him purr in satisfaction.  It's over.  There's no going back now.

She just...gives up.

Her body stops struggling as she looks up to the night sky.  She can see the full moon shining down upon her from the gapes in the leaves.  The moon gleams a somber blue, as if it is crying tears of sadness with her on this cold night.

She hears a rumbling roar rip through the soft melody of crickets surrounding her.  She looks up to see a wolf as black as night running towards her before everything goes black.
