a different day meant another day of torture to eunhwa. "there she is. why is her face like that?" they didn't say it in front of her but she heard it and it was painful. she always hated the way she looked, hated the people that told her more. it made her angry, livid.
so that day, she cut classes. and she didn't come home until night. she spent the rest of her time on top of a hill where she could see the city. she used to go there all the time with her sister and she loves it there. it was a place where she gets to witness the most breath-taking sunsets.
she was walking home when she bumped into someone. she was too busy kicking the rock she found on the road. she fell down, wincing at the pain on her bottom. "sorry." she looked up and saw a man.
he's beautiful, and i'm not. that's what she first thought of when she saw him. what shocked her the most was the fact that the man smiled at her, even after seeing her face. maybe he thinks I'm so ugly. that it's funny. "well, that was unfortunate." he laughed then stood up, went to her, and held his hand out. he was offering her help and she didn't know what to do. she couldn't believe what was happening. an act of kindness. from a stranger? to her? she was so confused. he must be an angel if this wasn't an act of pity.
she took his hands and thanked him. he smiled at her and apologized again. she just nodded her head and they both walked off, on to their lives.
and as they walked, they both wondered if they would see each other again.
