chapter 5

--------------3 months later--------------

"Dude I'm so excited" Aaron says "I haven't been to a water park in forever"

Today Aaron and I decided that we needed to have a best friend bonding day so we chose to go to the water park.

"Me too. I just wish you wouldn't have been so lazy and woken up earlier so we could spend all the day there." I say in a sarcastic voice.

"Hey, don't judge, I need my beauty sleep." he says as he flips his pretend hair.

"bzzzzzzz" "bzzzzzz" This is the 8th time my dad has called this morning and it's only noon.

"Why don't you just answer and then he'll leave you alone" Aaron says a little too sassy.

"Aaron are you seriously asking me that question.." as I switch lanes "If I answer he'll just try to apologize and say that he misses me. It's a waste of my time."

"Okay but if that phone buzzes again I'm throwing it out the window."

"Deal."

"Thanks Aaron, I had a great time today" I say as we walk out of the waterpark hand in hand. Even though Aaron and I are only friends doesn't mean that we don't flirt time to time, and besides it never really means anything to me.

"No problem. I'll do anything to see you happy" he says as he smiles.

Lately Aaron has been acting sort of strange around me, talking me on random "best friend bonding trips", holding my hand when he sees other guys eyeing me, or kissing me on the cheek or forehead when he takes me home. I don't know if he's just trying to be friendly in a way...or he's starting to have feelings for me.

"I know where we should go for dinner" I say with a half smirk because I already know that he knows.

"Olive Garden it is." he agrees

" I think I ate wayyy to much food today " I say over dramaticly as we walk out of Olive Garden.

"Me too dude I could have fed a whole city with everything that I ate."

Both Aaron and I ate my usual. (all you can eat soup and salad)

"Thanks for paying though Aaron, I really appreciate everything that you do for me."

"Gracie, I love you so much I would do anything for you."

We finally reach his car and he opens the door for me as I practically roll in after eating so much food.

On the way home we jam to my one and only loves One Direction, even though Aaron usually hates listening to One Direction he's being oddly okay with tonight.

After about an hour we finally make it home and he pulls into my driveway (yes I let him drive home tonight only because I was too full).

"Gracie I had a really good time tonight...and I was hoping that instead of 'best friend' bonding I could take you on a date next time..."

"Aaron..." I say slowly "What's going on with you...?"

"Gracie we've been friends for over 17 years now and I just can't hold back my feelings for you anymore. I REALLY like you, and I want you to give me a chance, I want you to give US a chance Gracie."

"Aaron I have feelings for you too, but what happens if we don't work out? We date and then break up, I can't risk losing you. Your the best thing that has ever happened to me."

"I would never hurt you Gracie...just give it a shot, and if things don't work out nothing will change between us. I promise."

"I need some time to think about it Aaron." I say as I slowly start to gather my things

"Okay, I understand. I'll see you tomorrow okay?"

"Yeah...yeah...I'll see you tomorrow."

Aaron gives me a kiss on the cheek and I get out of the car making sure not to look back at him. This is to much. Why now ? Why all of the sudden does he tell me that he has feelings for me? I just need to get in the house take a shower and go to bed.
