Rayne sighed in relief as she saw no one was here, what she didn't know was that the doctors had just put her mom on life support and had just been officially announced brain dead and would be taken off life support the next day. Her brother was alone at the hospital crying and just wanting to call his sister, the only reason he hasn't yet is because he didn't want to ruin her fun. He thought that she was still on tour with the guys, he didn't know that she was at home in the kitchen making his new "niece" a peanut butter and marshmallow fluff sandwich. He wiped his tears and got out his cell phone, by this point he didn't care if she was having the time of her life; she deserved to know.

Rayne was smiling as Neveah and her shared a sandwich and some apple juice. Her phone started ringing and she furrowed her eyebrows when she saw it was her brother. It was a wednesday he should be at school, she answered happily but that quickly turned to worry because of her brother being in hysterics. She stood up and tried to calm him down enough so she could understand him. "Moms brain dead and will be took off life support tomorrow." When she heard that it was like the whole word had stopped orbiting and everything was going in slow motion. She couldn't speak, she was too busy repeated what he had said in her mind. 'Why couldn't she have just stayed home?' she thought, maybe if she would have her mom wouldn't have ended up like this. Hot tears rolled down her cheeks, "I'll be right there.." she spoke the best she could. Little Neveah was confused as she looked at Rayne, She wanted to know why she was crying. What was happening? Will she be okay? she looked at her intently wanting to ask questions but afraid of the answers. "Neveah sweety.." Rayne finally spoke. "We have to go to the hospital, my mommy is very sick..." Neveah sat down her little bite of sandwich and nodded, "okay, we should go see her." Rayne smiled a little, "yes we should."

At the hospital Rayne was holding Neveah's hand running through the halls trying to make it to her moms room. she finally made it and sighed before opening the door and walking in. Her brother looked up at her with puffy, red, blood shot eyes. "She was complaining about pain all week.." he told her. Rayne's mom had breast cancer, they had gotten it all out, but it reappeared and infected her worse in the last month. That's something the doctors didn't know because th ey hadn't got her test results back until it was too late. "You didn't call the nurse?" Rayne asked. Trent hadn't noticed little Neveah hiding behind Rayne. "She wouldn't let me." he wiped away a tear that was making its way down his cheek. "Whose that?" He asked finally noticing the little girl behind her "mommy" Rayne smiled a little. "This is Neveah, I'm adopting her." Trevor looked confused. "Is there a story to go along with this?" Rayne laughed a little. "Yeah."

Rayne sat in the hospital room alone with her mom and Neveah sleeping soundly on a chair. She thought about the last time she saw her mom and how the last thing she said to her wasn't an i love you.

-Flash Back-
"Last night, Motionless In White invited me on tour to sell merch for them." She blurted it out treating it like a band-aid. "Well I sure hope you said no." Her mom said in a disapproving tone. "Well mom, I didn't I said yes." that's when her brother stepped in, "What? Why? Well I mean, i don't blame you, but still! I need you here to help!" Rayne sighed and looked at her brother, "I'm going to hire a nurse you won't even have to take care of her anymore." , "You talk about me like i'm not even here, Rayne this is completely and utterly selfish of you." Rayne laughed, "Oh really? Mom lets take a little walk down memory lane. When dad died you didn't go to his funeral because you had reservations in fucking Florida for a Cruise! You've been selfish many more times before that too! My decision to go isn't selfish." Taken back by what her daughter had said Rayne's mother thought for a minute before speaking, "Just leave now then."

Rayne cried and started to apologize to her mom. She told her how much she loved her and she told her how much she wished she could have at least met Ricky, the rest of the guys and most importantly; Neveah.
