Amelie Hart watched thoughtfully as his hands grazed the old worn cover of her favorite book. The moment he had walked in the library she had seen him. There was never a moment she wasn't in this library she practically grew up in it, yet she had never seen him. Something about him, not just his striking green eyes and brown curls but his demeanor intrigued her. He was leaning against the book shelf flipping through the pages of the book. Sighing she forced herself to focus back on shelving the books. Amelie had been working at Miss May's book shop for almost a year now. Reading was her most favorite thing in the world. It felt so natural just to sit down with a book and feel time pass by in a second. As she pushed her book cart up the aisle her gaze was drawn toward the green eyed boy again. Working up the nerve to approach him she walked over, and looked up into those green eyes of his and smiling said "That's my book your holding."

Surprised, confusion flashed through his eyes and then understanding. Chuckling he replied "Oh I see, so it doesn't belong to the library it's just sitting on this shelf for only your enjoyment."

"That's right, so if I could have it back please sir that would be great" she teased.

"Sir?" he laughed, a nice sounding laugh she inquired. "Hmmm, so you own pride and prejudice then?" he said scanning the old book with his eyes and with a smirk on his face. His curls flopped in front of his eyes and he brushed them back.

"What," she said noticing his smirk." You don't enjoy a little Jane Austen?"

"I mean it's a classic, but I couldn't say cause I've never read any of her books." he replied while trying to keep a smile off his face and stuffed his hands in his pocket suspiciously.

She side eyed him as she responded "Oh really, well pride and prejudice is a great start if you were to ask me. I would even let you borrow my book if you were really interested" she said tauntingly as her eyes flickered to the book in his hands back to his own eyes. Something mischievous sparkled in his eyes that intrigued her.

His lips cracked a smile, "I'll think about it......."

"Amelie." she answered reaching out her hand to shake his own. "And you?"

"Roman." he replied politely. "Amelie, it was nice to meet you but I better be off. Thanks for the book recommendation and the book since apparently it's yours." he said teasingly as he waved his hand and walked off.

"Bye" she replied defeatedly as she went around the corner and sat down in a secluded area by herself. She wondered why he had left so quick when she had liked talking to him so much. Hopefully he felt the same she thought. She laughed to herself at her silliness, why was she so worried about this strange boy she had just barely met?

What had come over her? Usually she was a shy girl who barely talked to anyone least of all people her age. There was something about that boy that made her walk over there without fear. Also, why was he acting so strangely and almost suspiciously when she asked him about him ever reading Jane Austen? So many questions and thoughts were interrupted when she realized she needed to get back to work shelving books. Miss May wasn't going to be too happy with her progress. As she continued shelving books she silently wished to herself that he would come back one day into the little library.
