THE NEXT MORNING
After being released from the hospital and stopping to get some dinner to take home, (and stopping at a liquor store for some booze) Husk and you arrived at his home. It was a pretty, one-story brick house with white windowpanes and a decent sized porch. Pretty upperclass for a house in the 50s. You got out of the taxi and unfolded Husk's wheelchair, carefully helping him get settled into it. He had surgery on his legs to glue the shattered bones back together, and so his legs would heal faster. He had his elbow popped back into place, so it was a little sore. He had a small cast on his broken hand, so it wasn't that big of a nuisance. He was told to be easy in his ribs since they heal on their own.
"Key is under the rug" Husk said. You bent down to get it and unlocked the door. As you and Husk entered the house, a strong smell of cologne and whiskey hit you. There were empty bottles of booze and liquors scattered around the place, playing cards here and there, and stolen neon signs that complimented the place. Besides all the bottles, it was a very kept up home. "What a wonderful place you have, Mr. Husk!" you exclaimed. "My place is now yours too, toots. And please, just call me Husk for god's sake. We're in America now." Husk took your hand and kissed it gently. You smiled. "Alright Husk. Now let's eat. You must be starved." You both got club sandwiches with fries. You got Husk to the table and gave him his food. After setting yours, you got two whiskey glasses and poured both you and Husk some good bourbon. "Thank you dear" Husk said. You smiled and nodded your head.

A FEW HOURS LATER
You and husk were both tipsy, not having alcohol in a good few months. More than half of the booze was gone. "Would you mind taking a crippled dapper to his room?" You knew Husk was referring to himself, so you laughed. You could also tell that he was a little more tipsy than you were. "You're not crippled, you just can't walk" you said as you brought him down the hall to his room. There was a dartboard beside the door that you slowly creaked open, along with more neon signs around the room. Most of them were promoting different brands of alcohol. He had a folded U.S. flag on his dresser, and you assumed it was for someone in his now-passed family, so you didn't ask any questions. He had a queen sized bed with a thick black comforter with aces of spades printed on it, along with red pillows. You were checking out his playing card collection when you were caught off guard by a shirt being thrown at your head. You turned around to see that Husk had taken his shirt off. You scanned his body, noticing his toned stomach with scars and cuts everywhere. His sides were black and blue due to his broken ribs. You grinned a little while your cheeks flushed a shade of pink. "What? Never seen a shirtless man before?" he smugly asked. You snapped out of your trance and looked at him. "Uh- yeah. I just- there was a shirt thrown at me so of course I had to turn around to see what you were up to. Gee, your sides look bad. Are you hurting?" you asked, clearly concerned. "Nope. That's what *hic* booze is for, doll." he replied. You then grabbed him from under his arms and put him in bed. "Stay here" you said. You walked out of his room, and then came back with some antibiotics and water. "Take this or i'll slap your knees." "Ouch, yes ma'am" Husk said before he took his pills. He then managed to shimmy his pants off from under the covers and throw them on the floor. "Goodness Husk. You're so untidy" you said as you picked his clothes up and set them in a basket. He just giggled like a child, seeming to be shitfaced drunk at this point. You rolled your eyes, and then started to yawn. "I think i'm about to go to sleep. See you in the morning Husk" you said as you started to make your way to the guest bedroom. "Wait! Aaaaaren't you gonna keep me companyyyy? It was *hic* lonely in the hospitaaaal" Husk slurred and dragged his words. You stood there and thought about it for a second. "Damn it, alright. I'll be right back then." You went to get a light pink satin spaghetti strap shirt with matching shorts to go to sleep in. You brushed your teeth and combed your (h/l)(h/c) hair before coming back into his room to find him sitting up waiting for you to come back. "Hello deeeeaaar *hic*" he yelled. He patted the empty spot beside him before you climbed into bed with him. You got settled, turning your face towards him. You didn't mind sleeping next to this soldier you met not even a week ago. He was respectful and very nice, even if he did have a few addictions. As Husk got comfortable, he reached over to caress your cheek. "You're *hic* gorgeous" he slurred. A sudden rush of adrenaline came up on you, and you scooted closer to him. Your head was at his shoulders and you put your leg over his torso, avoiding his broken limbs. He gave you a shit eating grin before pulling you in with his good arm. You gazed up at him for a moment before slowly moving in to kiss him. Your soft lips met with his, and he wasn't hesitant to kiss back. He started to caress your back and run his fingers through your hair before releasing the kiss. You then got ready to sleep, digging your head into the crook of his neck and holding him closer. You haven't felt the embrace of a human since you started college 4 years ago, and boy were you living for it. "Welcome home, doll" Husk sleepily said before falling asleep.
