The cold is trapped inside my embrace
As I eye the lace forming on flower petals
outside my window and stretching to the beachThe sun was come up to greet me
I can see past the sand and to the seaSeagulls fly overhead
Dancing with the wind currentsThe wind has a bite I spot a Kite in the sky
Etched with rosesIt flies alone and peacefully
I wonder who it belongs toWaves crash on the shore
They return home
And reveal lives and stories
Stretching miles to the deep seaA view I'll never get tired of
A view I see through my window
in the house by the sea~H.R. Larkin
