I've come to walk
To see where the road will take me

My eyes are full
And wet
From the tears of a different time

I still hold the feelings
Of love
And happiness
You left

You are bounded to my soul
Braided
Sewn
And entwined in every cut you left me

As I walk down the street
I pass by every green trees

Along the road lies broken gravel
And half shadowed sidewalks

The clouds above remain still,
Grey and damp

The memories of our love
Flood and soak through me

Your hands on my waist
As we swayed to a silent song

Your lips on mine
When I craved you

Your heat and warmth
When I wanted to feel you

The echo of your laugh
As you threw your head back
From a joke I knew wasn't that good

I bury my head in my hood
And stuff my hands in my pocket

The warmth I've made
Isn't the same
As yours

The love I mended from string and cloth
Isn't the same as your heart

A cloud thunders and it begans to rain
The first shower of the year

The water drizzles
Quickly becoming a pounding storm

But I don't care
I allow the pool of water
To fill me

I let it wash away every mark you left
Filter through every crack and corner
Of my broken heart

As the seasons slowly change
I begin to feel my light come back on
And my heart ignites once more
