CHAPTER 26

26.

"GOODBYE... BABY GIRL..."

I heard him saying those words and I slowly closed my eyes.

This is the end. I thought to myself and took a deep breath.

ANNIE, what are you doing? Are you really giving up now? Did you forget what he did to you, me, and our family? Where is my strong girl? Did you forget our promises?

EMI... EMI... I can hear her voice and still closed my eyes.

Come on. Wake up, ANNIE. You are falling into their trap. 

Remember those things, that we promised to each other. You have to find the reason for each and everything that to both of us and our family. 

You have to be strong and fight back, my girl.

EMI... 

I shot open my eyes and searched around as it felt like I just met her. But she wasn't here. All I could see was him standing in front of me and pointing the gun in my head. He was laughing at me.

I can't die now. I have to find the truth behind everything. I have made promises to EMI, to destroy you, Mr. MACDUFF, and your all partners. There are many uncompleted things that I have to do. 

How can I die so easily? How can I leave everything behind? I can't let you all destroy everything. There are still some people that I want to keep away from your sight. Before I die, I will reveal all your bad deeds in front of everyone and destroy everything.

"I thought you wanted me but looks like you don't." I laughed at him and shook my head. Then, I looked straight at him in his eyes. "Why do you want to kill me?" 

He removed the gun from my head and stepped back. I slowly stood up and stretched my body.

"And you," I pointed upstairs. "I thought you wanted me as well for yourself and now you are letting me die in his hands," I said glaring at Mr. MACDUFF.

"Mr. MACDUFF... you know what...You are the most blockheaded and dumb person I have ever seen."

"YOU..." He tried to come near me but was stopped on his way.

"No... Let her speak..."

"But... she is..."

"I SAID... LET HER SPEAK... Did you get it, MACDUFF?"

"Yes, sir..." He said and stepped back making distance from me.

I know how to offend you MACDUFF. Today, no matter whether I will die or not, you have to spill everything.

Mr. BECKWITH was trying to say something about my family. What my family? What does he mean? Why did you backstab him? Why did you kill him? I want to know the reason behind it.

"Why did you betray him?" I glared at him. "Why did you kill him? And, I don't think what DAIN did is the only reason behind it. There is something else."

He shook his head and sighed.

"Speak up, you jerk. Why did you kill him? What did you all do to my family?"

"Why do you even care? Past is past and the truth is, your family is dead." He said and laughed at me. "You are all alone and nobody is going to save you from us."

"I know I am all alone. If you all are planning to kill me then at least tell me the truth. I should know everything before I die."

He shook his head and played with the gun in his hand.
