33.5 LA SEGUNDA PARTE

PART 2 OF ROSANNA'S SIDE STORY...

Rosanna’s face was filled with horror and she gaped at the sight of her reflection in the mirror in their bathroom. She didn’t know why she always had some morning sickness and random vomits, at tuwing lalabas siya at magtrabaho ay lagi siyang nahihilo.

She feared what is happening to her and an idea struck her head and that made her sight round and shook her head multiple times. “No…it can’t be,” she uttered with her unstable tone and after that, she turned around and walked in a hurry to go outside.

“What’s wrong Rosanna?” Manuel’s mother asked her worriedly.

“I need to get to the hospital fast…I need to check something.” When Manuel’s mother heard her said that, they soon came to the hospital.

She was heaving, I didn’t also get my period these days…

After they took some tests on her, the doctors explained that she will wait until the next day for the result. A couple of days have passed and Rosanna is now shivering as she opens the envelope with the result inside, Manuel was also on her side patiently waiting for the result.

She browse the letter immediately and after that, she stiffened and gasped that it made her slip the paper on the floor. Manuel saw it too and his eyes expanded with happiness when he knew it was real.

“Oh, Rosanna! I’m going to be a father now! Goodness gracious! This is the delighted day of my life!” He exclaimed merrily, his eyes were full of joy and his heart felt heavenly of the result. The result came positive, and she’s now 2 months pregnant.

Rosanna felt horrified, she put both of her hands on her mouth, and still, her gaze was locked to the ground. “Gosh! You’re going to be a mother now Rosa-“ he paused when he saw her breathing heavily.

“Rosanna…what’s wrong? Are you not happy?” he asked, with his gentle expression before he caressed her hair worriedly. Rosanna faced him of a sudden with her eyes filled with panic and spurn.

“You know how much I don’t want to bear a youth Manuel….you know it from the beginning!”

“But Rosanna, are you not pleased that we’re going to be a family now? Anong klaseng asawa ka kung ayaw mo akong bigyan ng kahit isang anak lamang?! We are destined to make a family!”

“It’s what you want Manuel, not for me…I don’t want to have a child because it can only make my time be consumed! I want to work and avert my focus to the thing I strive the most!” She yelled so loudly at their own room.

Manuel couldn’t believe her right now, it’s like his heart was torn into pieces of what she just said. He was wrong all along…this is not love at all. He fumed inside his own until he couldn't control himself.

“Bear my child Rosanna…pagkatapos niyan ay bahala kana sa buhay mo! Kahit sakupin mo pa ang buong bansa ay wala akong pakealam! I don’t know why you expressed me that you love me but this right now…just ruin me a lot that it took me to compel myself to stop my love towards you…Go ahead and be a prideful woman!” his voice raised, his whole body was trembling with hostility and his mind was blank because of disappointment towards his wife.

All his life he keeps on understanding her but now, he had enough. “Just bear my child Rosanna…I can raise him myself if you want.” Ayan nalang ang nasabi ni Manuel sa kaniya at agad siyang iniwan sa kwarto bago sinara ang pinto ng napakalakas.

Rosanna was tearing up, and the next thing she knew, she raged out her anger on her room by throwing things to let it out.
