Chapter 5
Before going home Travis went to the bottle shop and got a bottle of champagne to share with Trish he was going to do something really romantic for her. So he had to do some serious preparation before she got there. He pulled into his driveway just as he stepped out “Where have you been?” “At the beach doing homework with Trish” “Well why didn’t you tell me you were going there?” “I told dad and I wasn’t aware that I needed to tell you each time I leave the house” “Well I just worry about you is all especially now your driving” “Um okay sorry I guess” “Well just please let me know Travis that’s all I ask” “Sure no problem.” That was really weird for his mum to be like that she was acting very strange ever since he and Trish spent their first night together.
He pushed these thoughts from his mind as he had other things to focus on he ran around the whole house and found every candle they had which was actually quite a lot. Then he had to think what he could give Trish to eat so he ran to the kitchen and looked in the fridge “What are you doing Travis” “I’m trying to think what I could cook for Trish” “Oh that’s sweet Travis” “Mum don’t say that it’s weird” “Why?” “It just is do you have any idea’s though?” “Well what about that stir-fry you used to do all the things are there” “That’s a really good idea thanks mum.” That’s the second time she’s been all weird I mean calling Travis cute what was she thinking he pushed this to the back of his mind again.
Now he had a candle lit dinner with champagne and Trish was bringing around movies he decided he’d meet her down stairs but have everything ready up here and walk in behind her. This was going to be the best he couldn’t wait to see the look on her face, he kept thinking to himself as he painstakingly went around the room putting the candle’s in place he’d light them at about five he thought then he’d run downstairs to get the dinner ready as Trish was always a little early. He looked at his clock and was blown away to see it was already three he only had two and a bit hours to go.
He went back down stairs to start the dinner he pulled the wok out of the cupboard then got some meat, veggies and the sauce mix and through it all into together and left it to simmer. He was so excited to see whether or not Trish liked his surprise he hoped that she would. He spent the next hour and a half running between the kitchen and his room to make sure everything was ready. He had changed his sheets cleaned his room now he was starting to light the candles he decided to through rose petals on the bed to when he got a txt from Trish saying that she was heading over in ten minutes. He bolted down stairs served up the food carried it up stairs and finished the lighting of all the candles just as the door bell went off so he ran back down stairs he was out of breath.
“Hey Trish, how’s it going?” “Not bad what’s up with you? You look as though you have run a marathon” if only she knew how much running up and down stairs he had done in the last two hours. “I’m ok, what movies did you bring?” “quite a few I bought a wide selection so I’m sure we can find something to watch” “Ok well let’s go up to my room then.”
He walked up the stairs behind her as she opened his room door she gasped, she walked in and looked around at all the lit candles then at the food and the drinks he had poured already. “Oh my god Travis, this is so romantic you did all this for me?” “Yes I did all this so you just might get an understanding of how much I do care for you, I really love you Trish and it feels different not that a few weeks, years or teenage love this feels like the real deal that forever love you read about.”
