Portraits and artifacts were seen as she walks down the hallway of the museum. So mesmerized by the things that were made from the past. Aesthetic antique things were so satisfying to gaze at for (Y/N).
The castle, now turned into a museum, was so vast she could get lost if she wasn't paying attention to the tour guide. A palace once lived by royalty now made into a museum to preserve the past. Such majestic place existed and it wondered her greatly who the people were who once lived here.
A grand portrait hanged by the wall caught her attention. It looked rusty and was painted perfectly; every detail of the woman was perfect. She looked fierce looking, with a hint of softness in her features. Lady Isabella, labeled as the queen of the kingdom that once existed.
(Y/N) looked back at the tour guide but they were nowhere to be seen, so was her group. Instead of panicking, she smiled brightly as it was a chance to explore the castle on her own.
She passed through hallway after hallway deep in the castle, which was obviously a restricted area but she didn't care for her curiosity got the best of her.
Dancing around in her flowy sunflower yellow dress, she felt as if she was like a noble person that went to a visit in the castle. Taking pictures of every interesting thing that caught her eye.
One portrait intrigued her but she turned so fast she lost her balance. Thankfully, she didn't fall as someone had surprisingly caught her. A man grabbed her by her waist, a good-looking man she might say.
Raven black hair that almost covered half of his handsome face and olive green eyes that stared at her wistfully. Regaining back her thoughts, she stood straight up and apologized. "I'm sorry, I am very clumsy sometimes."
He playfully smiled at her statement. "May I know your name, my lady?" He asked, taking her hand and kissing it. (Y/N) immediately blushed in embarrassment, were these how people in another country flirt? She only watched shows on her television so she couldn't really confirm and if it was, how embarrassing it was.
His dressed like he was born from another past century she once saw on her history textbooks. This person was so formally dressed she felt a little confused. "I'm (Y/N)." She responded.
"What a lovely name." He softly smiled. "May I take you to a dance?" He asked, offering his gloved hand.
(Y/N) was surprised and confused on why she was in a ballroom. Everything was happening in a blur, and she could not distinguish if the room had many people or not. Fading music from afar was heard as the people around her danced elegantly. She was very perplexed; Nevertheless she accepted the stranger's hand and nodded.
Maybe she slipped into a movie set? She wasn't sure and this felt like a hazy dream. She danced with the guy infront of her, spinning and dancing around the now spacious room which also honestly confused her.
"You're quite very talented in dancing despite looking a little underdressed." He teased, grinning. (Y/N) didn't know what he meant by being underdressed. She dressed up and covered herself nicely with her bright yellow dress, with the skirt length over her knees.
"You're very calm, huh?" He said. "I like people who are calm with me."
(Y/N) was a little flattered. "You're quite pretty, I must say." He said, turning her around and lets her fall but catches her by holding her back while she holds him by the back of his neck. He pulled her up, their faces ending up too close unlike before.
He was undeniably attractive.
"Why won't you speak? Am I too handsome for you to comprehend?" He smirked, continuing on dancing with her. At this (Y/N) felt a little called out since what he said was true, though she wouldn't admit it.
"Why yes, you are handsome." (Y/N) confidently said and smiled back, which caught him off guard for a second. "You're the most charming man I've ever encountered since entering this place."
"Is that so?" Ray raised his eyebrows at her, entertained by her statement.
It felt like as if she was dancing for so long, spinning around with this man guiding her to dance. She was confused, but she kind of didn't want the music to stop. But of course, everything ends so quickly.
"Let me spin you for the very last time." He said, continuing to dance with her and gave her a spin. "It was a pleasure to meet you, Lady (Y/N)."
As she spins and hears his voice and the music slowly fading away, she found herself in the empty ballroom with no one but herself. The same place where she danced with that young handsome man. That was weird, was she hallucinating?
She decided to go back to the main hall of the castle where she surprisingly found him again, but in a portrait made from a long time ago. And coincidentally a woman in a bright yellow dress was dancing with him, smiling.
Glancing over the portrait's title, it was named Dancing with the yellow. What shocked her was that her name, (Y/N) was carved on the stone below the title. And not just her name was carved, but as well as the man she danced with.
Ray, his name was Ray. Prince of the kingdom that once ruled for many centuries. There was no mistake for his features matched with the portrait. That confident man, was dressed formally because he was royalty. (Y/N) widened her eyes in realization.
She danced with the man in the portrait.
