Yelena was back in her life now, but they had never been more distant.
Yel had stayed in her chosen new home of the U.S., supposedly going after Barton, thanks to Val's tip, while Sascha had gone back East to her home - though even further East, this time to China. But, despite their sudden distance from each other, both had returned to their assassin pasts and old spy ways.
"Xu Xialing."
"Agent Shostakov. Are you ready?" the young woman asked her.
"Yes, myself and the other Widows are."
"Good." Xialing gave a brisk nod. "Then let's get started, we have a lot of work to do."
The two women shook hands, sealing their deal, before both turned to look out at the compound stretching before them. It was filled with dozens of trainees, both men and women, training together. Many of the women were former Widows, freed by Sascha and Yelena's efforts. Xialing was now running her father, Wenwu's, Ten Rings organization, while Sascha had become head of the Black Widows, of her own forged Red Room - a place for warrior women to train and then take their knowledge out into the world. Honestly, it was kind of nice being surrounded by other Widows, and so many of them, especially in the wake of Yelena's absence.
As she continued to watch them go about their rigorous training, Sascha gave a nod of approval. "да, let's get to work."
