Chapter 14 "Truth Not Being Told"

Late Evening 

Paris Streets 

Noe was walking through Paris' streets, looking around, trying to focus on his main goal. Trying to pull him together to save her, but all of those thoughts about Vanitas could leave his head. He stopped, looking down at his shoes, realizing that this whole time Vanitas was actually saving vampires, not for himself. He needed salvation for her.

" It is all my fault again - I would never hurt her " - those words of him, made him come to the conclusion. This whole time Noe was way focused on her charm and Vanitas' selfishness that he could not see the reality. Noe's feelings closed his eyes on the truth. 

Noe continues walking in the amusement park's direction. As soon as he noticed the sign at the top of the arc, he stopped, looking at it. Preparing himself for the worse of the possible outcomes, he stepped across the line inside, looking in various directions, searching for any clues that will help him.

- Oh, Monsieur Noe, glad to meet you, my name is Mikhail, - Noe heard a sudden voice from the side where the wheel was located. He looked at the small boy, who standing and holding a book, almost looking like a book that Vanitas was having. Noe looked behind, seeing the vampire of the blue moon who was standing behind him and looking down with emptiness in her eyes.

- [y/n], are you alright? - Noe made a step forward to them, but a mechanic dog jump closer to him, not letting him make any step further.

- I apologize, Monsieur Noe, but she can't hear you, - said the boy with a smile of pleasure on his face, - As a Warrior of the Blue Moon with a little trick of the book of Vanitas, she can be my doll for a little while and if you will deny my favor she kills herself, but I will let her free and safe as soon as you will fulfill my wish.

- What do you want? - Noe's voice was frigid. He couldn't stand a person who is using someone for their own profit, but knowing that fight will not help anything, he was stopping himself from even thinking about it.

- Drink Vanitas' blood and tell me why did he leave me for her, why did he take my father away? Why did he do that? -  Mikhail's voice cracked, he squeezed the book in his hand looking at the astonishment on Noe's face. 

- Left you for her? For [y/n]? Killed your father? - Noe opened his mouth. He knew that Vanitas and she had their past, but he could not even imagine that they were close like that. 

- Oh, poor Monsieur Noe, you don't know a thing about them? Don't you? - Mikhail bypassed a dog, standing in front of Noe. Noe fall on his knees feeling how everything was pressuring him from the inside. Mikhail put his hand on Noe's cheek, smiling at him and getting closer, - Drink my blood, Noe. See it with my eyes.

Noe looked down, trying to not thinking about it. No. He wanted to know, Noe wanted to understand Vanitas. Noe looked at Mikhail, seeing him loosing the collar of his shirt and getting closer to his face. Driving with this motivation, Noe bite Mikhail's neck, feeling how his blood slowly was getting inside of his mouth from his fangs. He closed his eyes, started looking for those memories. Memories that will clarify everything for him.

Flashback 

Noe was seeing Mikhail's memories from his eyes, from the point of view where he was looking after Vanitas and her in the distance. Sunlight was falling around the garden, not touching an old big tree. Vanitas was sitting under the tree, listening to her reading that book for him. Her voice was making him relaxing, taking everything off his head, making him feel comfortable just from hearing her reading a text of another novel that she used to read. She stopped, exhaling and looking at his thinking face. She was sitting back to him, feeling his hands wrapped around her waist with his chin that was on her shoulder.
