Regular Life episode 43: Eggscapade

When Jeremy's egg is close to hatching, it gets stolen by Hurricane the secretary bird that wants to sell it to a magpie merchant for money. Now he, Chad, Ioni, Grayson, Allie and Payton, along with a new friend must go after the secretary bird and get the egg back before it's too late. At the same time, Ruddy and Crystal embrace their newborn son, Evile who was born under a full moon weeks ago.

Chapter 1: Ponders

"What do you think will hatch from that egg?" Chad asked Jeremy. It was now morning and Jeremy, who had recovered from his injuries the night before and was now back in his refugee tent, was busy keeping his egg warm, holding it close to his chest. His friends were in there too, watching him.

"Maybe it might be part ostrich," Jeremy said, eyeing his egg.

"It's probably part dinosaur," said Chad. "You heard what Aegyptus said. It used to belong to a group of dinosaurs. He must have put something on it to keep it warm, unless he incubated it for sometime."

"He never said what family it was," Jeremy said, thinking about it.

"Do you think it might be a pterodactyl?" asked Ioni. "They look like birds. It could be half ostrich, half pterodactyl."

"It could be an archaeopteryx," said Jeremy. "That was the first bird."

"I'd like it to be an Ankylosaurus," said Chad.

"Or imagine a lovely plesiosaur," Ioni said, daydreaming of what it would look like. Her flashback had Chad and Grayson in it, drowning in water with a giant plesiosaur watching them.

"When do you think the egg will hatch?" Ioni asked Jeremy. "Once all 5 colors light up then it will be ready to hatch," said Jeremy. "So far it's only two rings that have been lit up."

"Seriously, guys?" Grayson asked her friends. "That egg has suddenly become the focus! You're just excited because you might get a brother or sister from it. As if I couldn't handle kiddie stuff, the hatchling will be the icing on the chocolate cake!"

"Do you know what will hatch from the egg?" Chad asked Grayson. "I don't indulge in dumb kids stuff!" scoffed Grayson.

Just then, Payton entered the tent to see the egg too.

"So any news?" asked Payton.

"Payton?! You're actually awake?!" gasped Jeremy. "You are usually asleep during this hour." "I know but I had to be up to see the egg." He looked at the egg, admiring it.

"So is it gonna be a boy or a girl?" Payton asked Jeremy. "I won't know until it hatches," said Jeremy. "All I know is that we'll have a new addition to the family. A new baby to play with Ioni and Nikki."

Ioni's ears drooped down. Jeremy had noticed this.

"Hey, Ioni," Jeremy said, rubbing Ioni's back. "You alright? Are you feeling hurt again?"

"Oh, Jeremy," Ioni said with tears in her eyes. "It doesn't hurt that much since I've rested. It's just... I don't know if we should keep Nikki anymore."

"But why?" asked Jeremy. "Tabby has a boyfriend," said Ioni. "And they said they wanted to adopt a kid. Her boyfriend is a goat and Nikki is a goat. So it makes sense for her to be with them."

"Now that you think about it, it would be easier for them to have a kid they could raise," Jeremy said, thinking about it. "Well technically she's temporarily adopted so...,"

"I'll have to say goodbye to her," sniffed Ioni. "We won't be sisters anymore." "Even if you won't be sisters anymore, you'll still be friends," Jeremy said to Ioni.
