You woke up in the middle of the night, not knowing where you were, and then remembering that you now lived with a handsome wounded soldier. You felt for him beside you, but he wasn't there. You immediately shot up in a panic and turned the bedside lamp on. You looked around the room for Husk, but he wasn't in there. You felt panic and fear flow through your veins as you shot up out of bed and opened the door. You quietly listened for any movement. (you were taught by the generals in case of an ambush) You then heard quiet whimpers and heavy breathing, along with something dragging on the floor. You followed the sound to the kitchen, where Husk was dragging himself with his elbows. "They took my legs, they took my legs, they took my legs" he kept repeating to himself in a shaky, clearly upset tone. Your heart sank. This man was having flashbacks of what happened days ago, which seemed like forever.
You quickly turned the lights on and ran over to Husk, realizing that he was still asleep and sleepwalking.. or crawling. You gently rolled him over on his back and tried your best not to startle him. You inched close to his ear and whispered his name. "Husk.. Husk wake up. Husk-" That's when he jolted awake and stared at you in distress. Realizing that he was at his home, no longer in war, and not being nearly blown to pieces by a land mine, he pulled you in with his arms around your neck and held you tight. He didn't let go for a long time, until you broke the silence.
"Bad dream?" you softly asked. "I-I was walking through the swamps a-and we got to dry land and then the next thing I know I was fucking blown back hundreds of feet and I landed into tall grass and felt both of my knees bend backwards and-" he stopped and started to hyperventilate. "HUSK. Husk you're rambling. You're home now. You have someone to make sure you're okay and to help you through your pains even when your bones do heal." You held him in your arms and rubbed his back until you felt his breathing start to go down back to  a normal rate. Once he calmed down, you looked into his eyes; Full of trust in you, and also fear of his past.
Your heart fluttered at his gaze. We're you starting to fall in love? You thought he was the most handsome man you've ever seen. You brushed it off, knowing you've only known him for a few days, yet it seemed like forever.
After a few seconds of staring at each other, he rolled over and pinned you down onto the kitchen floor. "Haha! Husk what are you-" you were cut off by a slow and passionate kiss, along with his hands grasped with yours. After a minute of kissing, he broke up the moment to ask a question. "Did you mean what you said about staying with me even when my bones do heal?" He realized what he said and then rolled off of you onto his back. "I uhm, hmph- not that I care anyway." he nonchalantly said. You giggled and stood up, tossing him over your shoulder. He was heavy as shit, but you were trained for that type of thing, even as a field nurse. "No need to act like you're tough shit Husk. Of course I meant it." He grumbled under his breath as he was immobile, being carried back to his bed. When you laid him onto his bed, he grabbed you by the waist by his good arm and scooped you into his arms, holding you tight. He gave you another sweet kiss before falling asleep with you.
You then made up your mind at that very moment. You were definitely in love with this man. "Maybe all of this happened for a reason. A soldier with a broken up body and newfound PTSD, uniting with a field nurse that knows how hard it is to handle tough things by themselves. What a charm~" you thought to yourself. You kissed Husk on the neck, and then drifted off to sleep with him.
