Reader's side
The man lets go of your hand when he notices it, and you scratch your nape, smiling softly. The man doesn't turn around.
"What was your name again, Edgy?" you ask, and he grumbles something inaudible before answering.
"I didn't tell you my name."
You rub your temple to help your headache and circle with your head.
Your neck cracks loudly, and you freeze, holding your breath back.
He looks over his shoulder, and you thrill from the glowing yellow eyes.
"You were in a coma for weeks after the war," he continues, leading you back to the medical room. "Give your body some time."
"I don't need time. I need my stuff so I can leave," you say, watching the dark hair move up and down a little as he walks. "And your name. It isn't fair that I said mine, but I don't know yours."
He grabs your arm and pulls you with him into the room.
A shadow falls over your face as you use your power without your will, and you take a step back when he lets you go.
"Maybe I just want to say thank you."
The man pulls out his sword and aims it at your neck.
I see.
You stand his sharp gaze and lean forward so the cold blade almost cuts into your skin.
He lours from your reaction and subconsciously pulls it back just enough to end the pressure you created.
He wants to scare me but not hurt me. That's enough.
"I think you got the situation wrong," he says calmly, with a faint smile playing at the corner of his lips. "I saved your life because I'm a doctor, and my crew brought you on my ship. But if you are a danger to mine, I won't hesitate to kill you."
You nod slowly and lift your hands.
He's strong. I wouldn't like to fight barehanded.
"I don't parle with people who can't even introduce themselves," you answer. "But I owe your crew my life. I won't hurt any of you."
He looks you up and down, then puts his katana to its sheath. His sharp features don't relax as he looks into your eyes again.
"Trafalgar Law. The Captain of the Heart Pirates."
Your heart misses a beat, but you don't let your thoughts reflect on your face, keeping your peaceful smile.
The Worst Generation. I should have recognized him.
"I'll answer your questions if you answer mine," you state and sit on the bed where you woke up.
"Why do you think I have any?"
"You don't?" you laugh silently, and the man tsk-s, turning his head. His features only soften when his friends appear at the door.
So there are still crews bonded by care and trust and not only power or money.
"Hi! I'm Penguin. I brought your belongings, [Y/N]," says one of the men, coming closer to you.
He stops a few steps away until Law looks at the package and nods, so he hands it over to you. You are surprised by the natural synch between them, without any words said.
"Where's my sword?" you scowl, rummaging through your clothes. Your hand shakes as you can't find it, but you try to hide it from them.
"You didn't have one when we found you," answers the man silently, and your eyes widen.
