Okay, that might have been very suspenseful. I guess I just made it over-dramatic.
Her fist came at me and I saw black, but only for a few seconds before I regained my vision.
"What the hell, Madison?!" I yelled.
She stood there, looking shocked by what she just did, herself.
"I-I don't know why I just did that" she stammered, her eyes still wild.
"Calm down" I said.
The next moment, she fell to her knees and then curled up on her side. She started sobbing.
"Please, just move him away. Move him far, far away. I hate this. I hate my life. I hate being me. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it" she said, repeating the last part over and over again.
It pained me to see her like this. She usually came off as tough and untouchable. I guess that was just a mask.
I kneeled down next to her and pet her head, just like in the bathroom. earlier today. I picked up my phone and pressed call, since 911 was already dialed.
"Hello?" I said into the phone.
"911. What's your emergency?" the operators voice said.
"Yea, I'd like to report a child abuser"
~~~~~~~
Madison went home later that day.
I went home with her just because I didn't want her to be alone.
Her mom drove us home. I bet she was just as worried as I was about her.
We pulled into her driveway. There was a black pickup truck parked in the right side of the driveway.
Madison opened the door quietly and walked inside, tiptoeing.
"Hey,Missy" I heard a slurred voice say. "We need to talk"
He came stumbling out of a room with a dirty tank top on and cargo shorts. His hair was cut military-style, but you could never take him seriously with his goatee and potbelly. He also had, as you can guess, a bottle of what seemed to be beer in his hand.
His eyes seemed to widen and he smiled a little when his eyes landed on me.
"Well, well, well. I see you brought a friend" he said, taking a few more wobbly steps toward us.
"Richard, stop" Madison said, looking down.
"Honey, I ain't doin anything" he said.
"Can we go upstairs already?" Madison asked, her voice shaky.
"Oh, what are you gonna do? Are you gonna try to rape her or something since you're a pathetic lesbian? I don't know who would be attracted to someone like you" he said to her, his empty fist clenching.
"Can you just shut up?" she said to him, then looked up at his face and widened her eyes, realizing she might've just made him too angry.
"Hey" he yelled. "I don't like that attitude. I didn't want to do this in front of your friend, but it seems that it's the only way to learn your lesson" he said while unbuckling his belt and taking it out of his pant loops.
He raised it and cracked it right at Madison, but he had missed and hit Madison's mom, who was just coming in the door.
She screamed in agony as the red spot on her shoulder probably stung really badly.
Richard's eyes became soft and wide. He dropped the bottle of beer, sending the pieces crashing and him rushing towards Madison's mom.
Right at that moment, the police bust through the door. He put his hands in the air as he got put into a police car.
"Thank you so much" I said to one of the officers while taking my wire off from under my sweatshirt and giving it to him. Madison did the same.
"We got him, Mad" I said to her and for the first time in a long time, she smiled a real, genuine smile and cried tears of joy.
"We got him" she repeated.
