It's a sunny day and Clay's right where he wants to be: taking a stroll in the park, his dog at his side. But when his loyal companion walks right up to a new person, Clay can't help it as stares in awe.

Okay, Dream is a dogboy, no one an Twitter can tell me otherwise. That's what inspired me. I wrote this in one sitting... I hope you enjoy!

Clay squints as he gets out of his car, momentarily blinded by the sun. He pulls on his sunglasses and clips the leash on Sasha's dark collar.

His golden retriever wags her tail excitedly, her chocolate eyes soft as she waits for Clay. After stuffing a plastic bag in his pocket, Clay moves out of the way and Sasha jumps out.

"Good girl," he murmurs, patting her soft head affectionately.

Sasha wags her tail in response, staying by Clay's side as they walk onto the worn, dirt trail of the park. She never pulls, always walking patiently by Clay's side. And Clay appreciates her for that. They both know of his affinity for conversation with strangers.

Just over four years old, Sasha is sweet, loving, and friendly; everything Clay wanted in a dog when he picked her. He remembers her little, furry body when he picked her out of her litter, knowing that she was the one. And he chose right.

Four years of inexplicable happiness with his dog at his side. Clay had always wanted a dog, he wanted to experience the unfailing loyalty, the joyful persona of a dog, and the constant cuddles. He's always been a touchy person, and Sasha provided him with something to be caring with.

She brought out a soft side of him that Clay had with no one else. Their bond was that akin to two best friends... and that's what Sasha is to him: his best friend.

Sasha's tongue lolls out, pink and healthy, as they walk under the leafy trees. Her sensitive nose flares and twitches whenever a new smell comes around. Clay wishes he could experience everything his dog experiences.

Their walk is short, like usual on a Saturday morning. They stop in front of the expanse of the park and Sasha's tail starts to wag faster. It's routine, the same for the past three years; after their walk, Clay unclips her leash and Sasha gets to socialize, just like Clay.

"Sit," Clay orders gently and Sasha sits.

He smiles and crouches, pushing his sunglasses to rest in his hair. His fingers ruffle the soft hair of her neck and he says, "Have fun, and don't get into any trouble, okay?"

Sasha just wags her tail happily, causing Clay to laugh softly. He knows she won't get into any trouble, she never has. Sasha has always been friendly and gentle, the main attraction whenever kids were around.

Clay gives her one last pet before unclipping her leash. She looks up at him, waiting patiently for the command. "Go!" Clay says, a smile etched on his face as he watches her bound off.

Her bright tail, yellow under the Saturday sun, wiggles back and forth as she finds one of her friends; a chocolate lab, who goes by the name Berkley.

Clay pushes his sunglasses back down his nose and sits on a bench, watching Sasha play happily. Soon her yellow fur is blurring with dark brown and she's tumbling around with Berkley, the two playing in what could be their own way of dancing.

Berkley's owner sits down next to Clay. Clay offers her a grin, trying to remember her name. He'd known her for a solid year, but her name always got lost in the constant activity of his brain. Or maybe her name was just forgettable.
