I just can't take this anymore. This isn't what I wanted. When I began playing for the USMNT, I thought that all I would have to do is travel to different countries playing soccer, and have a tutor along with making it to school if I could. But now, even in the off season, I have to do commercials, training, and meetings with the press. I guess it's pretty cool to be the youngest guy on the national team, it's just a lot more work than I thought. I can't do anything without an article on Buzzfeed.
Last month, I had to miss my friend Noah's 18th birthday. He threw a huge party at the country club. I was in Brazil for the World Cup then. I apologized for not being able to go but he was still pissed.
Sometimes I just wish that I could be a super-genius, or a great musician, instead of being a soccer prodigy. I want to impact the world in a way that I can't do with the life I'm living.
