To the readers-old and new,
This story began as something quiet. A flicker of an idea I scribbled in stolen moments, born from grief, tenderness, and a desire to explore what happens when two people are pulled apart by silence and find their way back through everything but words.
Back in 2021, I published the first version of Love, Loathing and Asher Harrison (then under a different title) on Wattpad. That version was messy, raw, and written with love-but I always knew Maverick and Asher had more to say. So, I pulled the story down. I took a breath. And I began again.
This version is fuller. Sharper. More honest.
Maverick is still soft and tired and trying to survive. Asher is still complicated and careful and cold in ways that aren't really cold at all. But now they exist in a world that holds them better. This version of their story is for every reader who's loved someone at the wrong time. For everyone who's ever asked, "Was it my fault?" and waited years for the answer.
If you've read the older draft, thank you for your love and patience. If this is your first time stepping into their story-welcome. I hope you fall in love with the mess of it all.
