Song of the Chapter: Pact With The Devil by Mahakala
Ciel Phantomhive sighed and ran his hand through his black hair, pulling his bangs up and revealing his pale forehead. He had been interviewing applicants for a butler position at his mansion for well over three hours now. None of them had been even near a good fit, and he was beyond frustrated. He still had a few applicants left, but was tempted to call it quits for the day.
Ciel's POV
I can't believe this. What idiots. How hard is it to make a simple dish? It's not like being a butler requires rocket science. I'm so fed up with all of them. I should just tell the other applicants to come back tomorrow. I sighed. I suppose I can handle just one more today."Number 66!" I called out. I sat up taller and straightened the collar of my shirt, regaining my dignified appearance. I heard footsteps echo through the hallway and stop outside the door. The cherry wood was slowly pushed open and a tall man clad in a black tuxedo stepped in. He shut the door and turned, his black hair falling to cover his brown eyes, and a playful smirk on his lips. "Hello Mr..." I started.
"Mr. Michaelis. But you can call me Sebastian." He winked flirtingly. I felt a blush creeping up my cheeks. After a moment of awkward silence, I quickly tried to continue the interview.
"Well, Mr. Mi-Sebastian, what do you have to offer me if you are given this position?" His smirk grew bigger, and he sat on the desk in front of me, leaning in close. Close enough for me to notice that his eyes were not brown, but red (red?!) with flecks of black.
"I am simply one hell of a butler." He chuckled. "And I'm good at other things too." He winked suggestively. I blushed again, coughed and backed away, trying to hide it.
"Well I apologize, but that is nowhere near a good enough answer. Why should I hire you?"
"Let's see, you have been looking for a butler for ages, you're completely worn out from interviewing idiots all day, and to be perfectly honest, I'm the only decent person you've talked to about this job." He stated bluntly, looking at me with a cocked eyebrow.
I sighed. "You're right," I confessed. He grinned.
"I'll start tomorrow." He stuck his right hand out, revealing long fingers and nails painted with black polish. I hesitated for only a moment, before reaching for his hand and shaking it. With one last grin, he walked out, shutting the door behind him. I had a strange feeling about this deal. Behind me, I heard the first soft strains of music, coming from the record player behind me, which turned on by itself.
Satan, come take my soul away
Wisdom, please give me
Wealth and fame are so useless
To a sinner like meShow me the way
Satan, sweet demon go away
Knowledge, you gave me
Happiness is so useless
To a fool like meShow me the way
Heaven's breaker
Shallow hater
Chaos bringer
Who is left to pay?Made a deal with the demon himself
Signed a pact with the devilNow there's nothing but pure madness
Broken vows and grief
Pull my soul into this labyrinth
Oh yeahMade a deal with the demon himself
The swallower of souls
Signed a pact with the devilI shivered.
