The sun shining through the trees, the birds singing quietly and the sound of horses nickering covered the land of Kings House, Ireland.
'Dad, I really don't think this is a good idea..' Thea explained as her dad, Charlie opened up the boot of his car. 'Thee, shush please, you'll be fine here.' Charlie slammed the boot shut and scooted Thea forward into the main office. There was a fountain in the middle of the square with stoney paths everywhere and pure green grass. Each building was perfectly shaped and well-looked after. Thea looked down and saw students her age and above walking around, talking and carrying books. Another girl came out with her parents, saying her good byes and crying into their shoulders. Thea was worried but her dad wasn't, he always said- 'Be out there..' - to Thea.
"Hello, please join me." A tall woman in a black dress and high heels stood infront of Thea and Charlie. 'I'm Miss Lewis, deputy head of Kings. I'm guessing you are Theadora Walcott?" Miss Lewis asked, raising an eyebrow. Thea answered with a yes and they talked through all the information. 'So Thea, this is where you'll be having your next two years. You'll be sharing a bedroom with two other girls-which I will see about later- but for now I suggest that you take this map and booklet and go to the home room where everyone else is.' Miss Lewis blantly smiled.
'I will miss you dad.' Thea felt the warm tears prickling, Charlie hugged her and walked away, trying to hide the fact he was swelling up aswell. Thea stood there with her bags and couldn't believe it was all real. She looked at her map and saw the home room was only down the path. There was a huge block of stables where Thea's horse to be was, an indoor and outdoor arena, hacking ground and a racing track. All that Thea wanted.
As she arrived in the home room she saw alot of people in her term stood around waiting and chatting. 'Hey, let me take your bag up to your room. What's your name? By the way, I'm Miss Debra, a groom here.' Miss Debra smiled at Thea. 'Theadore Walcott, or Thea.' Thea replied, putting her bags down next to Miss Debra. 'Ahh yes, Thea! Your room is number 10 out of 20, you're with Kendall King and Ria Port.' She explained. Miss Debra pointed to them both, they seemed like they were getting along.
'Uh hey, are you Kendall and Ria?' Thea asked. 'Yeah, I'm Kendall and obviously this is Ria.' Kendall smiled. Kendall had short, shoulder length, brown hair and she had a big smile and a natural face, whereas Ria had long, blonde hair, she had a small smile. Ria had a small, neat figure and makeup which made her look petit and barbie like. An hour later, Thea felt like she knew the whole of Kendall's life and hardly anything off Ria. Everyone was showed to their room and by the time everyone had got into their rooms, it was turning dark outside. 'This is such a lovely room!' Thea smiled, they had a view directly out to the fields where some horses from the year above were. There were 3 seperate single beds with 3 cabinets in. Ria was first to get everything unpacked and sorted out before lying on her bed on her phone. 'This is.. OMG so lush!' Kendall screamed in excitement. Tomorrow everyone was meeting their new horse for the next 2 years.
The next morning, Thea woke up extra early to get everything sorted with her riding clothes, Ria was already pottering around, cleaning up the room and typical Kendall was still asleep. It turned 7:30 and everyone was ready to go for breakfast exept Kendall who rushed into her riding clothes. As they arrived down the food hall, it was packed jam full of students of their year and above. The smells of cooked breakfasts and burnt toast lingered through. 'Mmm.. oh, I'm so hungry!' Kendall shouted, hoping the queue would hurry up.
After a long wait and a enjoyable breakfast, all the year went into the lounge to find out which groups they were in and what horses they were recieving. When Thea applied she had to choose one discipline and she chose show jumping as it was her passion at home. 'Cross Country group with Mrs Kelly is Kendall King, Henry Bruce, Charlie Hero, Portia Long, Cellan Long, Louise Watson, Zoe Green, Joeseph Smith, Lewis King, Rachel Porter, Naomi Bass, Megan Burns and Larissa Thomas. Please can you all go with Mrs Kelly and she we will show you your horses.' Miss Debra instructed, everyone shuffled closer. 'In the Dressage group with Mr Hanz is Thomas Levi, Josh Rolfe, Leah Jaured, Ria Port, Carl Heston, Tanya Burut, Nada Hawkin, Heidi Borde, Frigg Draco, Ellen Wilson, Velda Macey and Rocco Masek. You can all go with Mr Hanz to see your horses.' Before long every group exept showjumping had been said. 'Last but not least, Showjumping group with Miss Funnell.' Miss Debra explained.
Thea looked around, it was mainly girls with a few boys in the mixture. She instantly spotted a boy sat chatting to a girl, he had brown hair in Zac Efron style. He had cute, deep brown eyes and he wore a smart polo with jodpurs. As everyone walked to the Showjumping stables with Miss Funnell, a girl walked beside Thea and smiled. 'I'm so nervous to see what horse I have, I'm only a novice showjumper and I don't want a psycho horse!' She bit her nails nervously. She had two long, caramel plaits down her sides and very visable freckles on her face. 'Yeah, I'm nervous to find out too.' Thea replied. 'I'm Rosie Andre, you are?' Rosie asked, smiling and showing her pair of braces. 'Thea Walcott.' Thea replied, smiling back. 'Is your dad Charlie Walcott?' Rosie eyes widened. 'Yeah.. why?' Thea replied.
