It was the first day of school after the summer holiday and Y/N and her best friend were already done with the day.
"Y/N do we have to stay? Can't we just ditch the next period, or even the rest of the day?"
say'd Sophie as she sat down in the English classroom.
"No Soph we can't. And by the way I heard there is a new teacher today."

As Y/N said that the bell rang. Y/N sat down beside Sophie and started a little conversation.
"where is Mrs Hudson? She's never late." Sophie just looked around the classroom before answering.
"I don't know maybe she got into some bad traffic."
Y/N just gave her a nod and turned around as Mr Johnson walked in.

"Hello class."
He said and he got a few Hi's and hello's from the rest of the class.
"You might be wondering where Mrs Hudson is, but she isn't coming. Mrs Hudson quit for reasons I can't really explain."
"why not?"
Asked Jason who sat in the back of the class.
"Because I don't know the reason. Tomorrow you will be introduced to your new English professor. His name is Mr Hiddleston and he is a great professor. Please behave yourselves, especially you miss Black."

As he said that I looked up dumbfounded. "what why me?!"
He chuckled.
"Because you and your friend Sophie here like to make fun of people. And don't you dare deny that young lady because we both know that's the truth. "
I scoffed and nodded. Sophie just laughed at me.

"Now let's start with the Grammer of today's lesson. Please grab your books and open them on page 19 and 23."
Me and Sophie looked at each other and started grabbing our books.

English class was over. Y/N and Sophie had two more classes before they could finally greet they're bed's again.
"Y/N could you come here for a sec"
"sure"
Y/N walked to the desk where Mr Jhonson was seated.

"Y/N I need you to deliver this to office 004 for me please. "
As he said that he gave me a stack of papers with what looked like had information about a trip to New York on it.
" Of course sir, If you don't mind could I do that after school please? "
"Sure, just get it done."
I nodded and walked out of the classroom for my next class.

I walked to room 004 and knocked on the door. After I heard a soft come in, I open the door and walked through.

As I walked in my brown eyes locked on his blue orbs.
"Hello, what can I do for you?"
He asked, I had to caugh before I could even talk.
"uhm Mr Jhonson asked me to deliver these here."
He looked at the papers in my hand and nodded.
"Yes I was expecting those, thank you."

He looked at me expectingly, so I Iayed the papers on his desk.
"Thank you miss..."
"Black, Y/N Black."
He smiled and nodded.
"I think you're in my English class, now that Mrs Hudson is gone."
"Really?"
He just nodded.

We looked up as we heard a beep coming from the comms.
"Could Mr Hiddleston please come to Mr Johnsons class, Thank you."
Mr Hiddleston looked at me and sighed. "Well that's me, I better go."

I nodded as he stood up. When he picked up his bag it bumped into his glass of water and it fell all over the floor. Glass and water everywhere.

"Oh I'm so sorry. I have to go, could you clean that up please?"
Before I even got to answer he was already on his way to Mr Johnson's class.

"Jerk."

I just walked out to the parking lot where Sophie was waiting for me.
"So how'd it go?"
She asked I looked at her and sighed. "Great he was nice and then Oops dropped his water. After he did that he just completely walked out after saying 'Could you clean that up please' Like who does he think he is?"
I scoffed as Sophie just laughed at my sillynes.
"Well did you?" "Did I what?"
She just looked at me for a second. "cleaned it up?"
I scoffed and said.
"After how he asked me? definitely not. It's just laying there on the ground as a surprise for him when he gets back."
I said smirking.
"Oh and the good news is, he's our new English professor."
Note the sarcasm.

Sophie looked kinda disappointed with me, but who cares. All I care about now is that my tummy gets filled with some Mc Donald's and that I get home and close my eyes, on my nice soft pillows.

Days turned into weeks, and the atmosphere between Mr. Hiddleston and me remained tense. Our interactions never quite shook off the awkwardness, and each class felt like a delicate dance around unspoken frustrations. Despite this, the unpredictability of our dynamic somehow kept me engaged in his English class.

One day, after class, Mr. Hiddleston approached me, a hint of exasperation in his voice. "Y/N, we need to address the elephant in the room. The tension between us is palpable. Can we find some common ground to work from?"

I raised an eyebrow, meeting his gaze with defiance. "Common ground? I'm here to learn, not make friends. Let's just keep it professional, Mr. Hiddleston."

As the semester progressed, our clashes became almost routine. Mr. Hiddleston, seemingly undeterred, continued to challenge me in class discussions, pushing me to confront different perspectives. I, in turn, responded with terse responses and eye rolls.

The spilled water incident became a recurring topic of mockery among my friends, and I couldn't help but revel in the not-so-secret satisfaction of having a reason to keep my distance.

One day, during a heated debate about a novel's symbolism, Mr. Hiddleston and I found ourselves on opposite ends of the argument. The rest of the class observed our verbal sparring with both amusement and discomfort. It was a clash of wills that left an uneasy tension hanging in the air.

After the class, I packed my things quickly, eager to escape the stifling atmosphere. As I made my way to the door, Mr. Hiddleston called after me, "Y/N, a moment, please."

I turned, crossing my arms defensively. "What now?"

He sighed, his frustration evident. "Look, I know we don't see eye to eye, but there's potential in you. You're intelligent, and your insights could contribute significantly if you'd just let go of this animosity. Why are you so resistant?"

I scoffed, not willing to open up. "This isn't a therapy session, Mr. Hiddleston. I'm here to pass your class, not be your project."

The semester ended on a note of unresolved tension. I left the classroom, not with a sense of growth or connection, but with a lingering frustration that seemed to define my relationship with Mr. Hiddleston. Little did I know that the following semester would bring unexpected twists and turns, challenging the boundaries we had set and forcing us to confront the underlying reasons for our mutual annoyance.
