"It is quite the tragedy that happened at the exchange event, but we need to be grateful that no students were killed." Principal Gakuganji said.
A week had passed since the attack at the school from Geto. Y/N and Gojo have barely spoken since then. She has been sleeping in the school break room, while Gojo stayed home. He wishes he was brave enough to get her to open up, but he is afraid that he will make things much worse.
"Thanks to all of you, we only had a couple casualties. Please don't tell the children about the fatalities though, we dont- Excuse me?" Gakuganji said, causing everyone look at the girl. She had been sitting next to the window looking outside since the beginning of the meeting. "L/N, are you even paying attention?" Y/N continued looking outside to where Mahito had been killed. She could hear what everyone was saying, but didn't feel like engaging in conversation with anyone.
"Please, give her time." Gojo replied softly. "She has been like this for days." Mei Mei added on. "Everybody loses someone at some point, don't feel special." Mei Mei snapped. Y/N looked back at Mei Mei and slowly stood up. 'Y/N.." Gojo said as he stood up, slowly grabbing onto the girls arm. She quickly yanked her arm away and looked up at Gojo with the emptiest eyes. She then looked back at everybody. "My apologies, if you guys don't mind, I'm going to skip this meeting. If you need me, call me." She said as she made her way toward the door. "Y/N-" Before Gojo could finish she stepped out and walked away.
"Gojo.." Utahime started. "Please make sure she is okay." Utahime finished in a worried tone. Gojo nodded in agreement and stepped out, jogging to catch up with her. "Y/N" Gojo said loudly, as the girl ignored him. "Hey.." He said, grabbing her arm gently. "Please talk to me." He begged. "About what." Y/N replied in a monotone voice. "We haven't really talked since the attack I just want to know how you're doing." Gojo said as he grabbed her hand, interlocking his long fingers with hers. "I'm how anyone would be after losing someone they loved and cared for." She simply replied. "Look, I gave you time, I gave you space. You're not talking to me, Y/N." Gojo said, starting to get angry.
"Who did you talk to?" Y/N snapped. "What are you-" "Satoru who did you talk to when I died?" She asked. Gojo's eyes semi widened. "I-" "Don't lie to me." Y/N raised her voice. Gojo sighed and put his head down. "No one." He sighed once again. "Let me grieve Satoru. I loved him like a brother. He's gone now." Her voice cracked as she tightened the grip on her hand. "I-I love you. But there is nothing you can do to make me feel better. I'm nothing but a burden." She said softly, wiping a small tear on her face. "Y/N." Gojo started as he placed a hand on her cheek. He rubbed a small tear away with her thumb and looked her in the eyes. "You are the only person who had ever seen me cry. You were my shoulder to lean on, so when you died I didn't have that. But Y/N I'm right here, my love. You are anything but a burden to me. Your feelings are one hundred percent valid. I don't blame you for wanting to be alone, but I am right here. I love you for how strong you are, but I also love you for how sensitive you are for the people you love. Don't think that because you are feeling normal human emotions you are any less." Satoru said.
She looked up at him with watery eyes. She then shut her eyes and cried. He quickly pulled her in, holding the back of her head with one hand, and her back with the other. She cried tears she held in for days. She was embarrassed to be crying so hard and so ugly, but she felt comfortable. Satoru was right. He is here. He is in front of her. All she needed to feel better was to talk to the person she loved most. As goofy and childish as he is, he is also so caring and considerate of her feelings. She sobbed as she gripped on to his jacket. A small tear formed in Gojo's eyes. It hurt him to see the love of his life be in so much pain.
"I love you." Y/N said softly in between cries.
"I love you more." He replied softly.
