2 months ago I left Canada to come back to New Zealand. 2 months ago I had to leave my boyfriend. I have never missed anyone so much. We sent letters every week to one another (Yes, we sent letters). We have Skyped and facetimed almost every night, except for the past week. We haven't really been in contact that much. I think we're drifting apart. I understand. As much as I'd hate to give up on him.

Sunday night I texted him,
"Hey. We haven't talked much lately, and I think we're drifting a little. I understand, I mean long distance relationships are difficult.
I hope life is treating you well.
Miss you xo"

I'm going on camp this week so I won't have an signal.

*I get back from camp*
The bus dropped me at the bus stop which is 20 metres away from my house. I dragged the camp bag and two other smaller bags down the road. I finally reached the letter box and checked for any mail. 3 letters and junk mail. I couldn't look through to see who they're for as my hands were full. I reached the front and knocked with my foot. Mum opened the door and greeted my with a hug.

"Where should I put these?" I asked Mum

"Oh just in the lounge," she replied with a smirk

"Why?" I asked slowly walking into the lounge, "My rooms down the other end of.." The moment I got fully in the room, I dropped everything and tears blurred my vision. I ran and engulfed them in a hug.
We said nothing for about 3 minutes. We stood there, silent, hugging, swaying gently from side to side.

"I'll be outside if you need me," my mum piped up.

She walked outside and I looked up with red puffy eyes filled with tears of joy.

"Chris," I whisped as I buried my fave back into his chest.

"Hey, Roo, I've missed you so much!" He whisper back

We walked over to the couch a sat.

"I thought we.. we were drifting apart," I said in a quiet confused tone

"Didn't you get my letter, or text? He asked with his eyebrows knitted together

I immediately stood up and rummaged through the pile of mail I grabbed earlier.
There it was, I letter addressed to me. I went back to the couch and opened it in front of him. He had a gentle smile on his face as I read it.

Dear my sweet Ava aka Roo,
I'm so sorry I haven't been answering your calls and messages. I have been busy with something. Something you'll love very much.
I've missed you ever since you walked into the terminal 3 months ago. I love seeing your face whenever we face time and Skype, it always brings a smile to my face when I see you laugh. Be ready for a surprise next week.
I have to finish this early.
I miss you. I love you.

Chris xox

"This is amazing! How'd you afford to pay the airfares and accommodation?" I asked whilst still gripping the letter in my hands.

"Your job at the store. I got your job at the general store down the road," he replied slightly worried

"Ohhh, that makes sense, its a pretty good pay," I smiled

"Yeah... Hey, do you want to come back to my hotel room and we can chill for a while, it's the weekend so now school tomorrow," he smirked

"Yep, sure. I have to go ask my Mum

I stepped out onto the deck and looked through the window that looks straight into the lounge where Chris is. He's talking to someone on his phone. The second he saw me he turned around looking all guilty. I thought to myself that he's probably just talking to Crawford or something.

"Hey Mum! Can I go to Chris's hotel for a while?" I asked her in excitement

"Yeah, stay in contact though. How long for?" She asked

"Couple of hours probably," I replied and I walked away back inside

"Yeah, I can come.. What are you doing?" I asked as Chris quickly stands up from rummaging through my bags.

"Oh. I dropped my phone, hah," he said while scratching the back of his neck

What's up with him? He seems all twitchy and nervous. Probably jet lag.

"Should we go?" He asked frantically

"Why are you in a hurry?" I asked in a firm tone

"I'm not. Sorry," He said calmly with a hint of a fake smile

What is up with him? I asked myself over and over

We hopped into his rental car and drove away fast. 'What's up with him?'. On the 10 minute drive, he checked his watch about 250 times. "What's up with him?', I kept repeating in my head.

We finally got there and he rushed out of the car and into the room. He russled around in his suite case and pulled out a large empty bag.

"I'm sorry," Chris said in a regretful tone.

He walked over to me and lifted the bag above my head.

"NO! Chris! What are you do..."

Everything went black.
