Harry Potter despised parties, and that's why it takes a lot for someone to make him attend one. Even his close friends Hermione and Ron find it difficult to persuade him. Usually they would just give up and leave without him, however, this was the last party of Hogwarts they're talking about and everybody is encouraged to attend.
"For goodness sake Harry! I'm sure you're going to enjoy it," Hermione exasperated.
Harry, who was still in bed covered in blanket, only groaned in response.
Hermione rolled her eyes and asked Ron for help through her stare. The boy sighed and sat on the edge of Harry's bed.
"Look Harry, we're only asking for a simple favor. We've been going to parties without you and we're only asking you just this once," Ron softly said.
It was rather unsual for Ron to speak this way, during this time he would already get impatient and yell at Harry.
He peeked out slowly and contemplated whether or not he should attend. Hermione and Ron were really hoping that Harry would go tonight, besides they heard that there's going to be alcohol.
Harry sat up and adjusted his round glasses.
"Alright."
Hermione gasped loudly. Was she dreaming? Did Harry just agree?
"Really?" She squealed happily.
"I hate to repeat this but yeah, I'll go."
"Merlin! That's great mate," Ron said with excitement.
Harry had always been hounded by his close friends when it comes to parties. It's not that he's not interested, he just find being surrounded by a lot of people tiring. He was not the best when it came to communication, and he tends to be self-conscious. Besides, he just don't see anything special in parties.
"Is this some formal party?" Harry asked.
"It's semiformal since it was organized by students," Hermione was quick to reply.
"Well alright. I guess I have to look for something to wear then," Harry pouted.
"Well I'll see you boys later, I have to get ready too. Oh and Ron, help Harry out." In the wink of an eye, Hermione was gone.
Harry didn't really give much care about the party, but Ron was still trying to cheer him up the whole time they were choosing an outfit.
After prepping up, Ron and Harry found themselves at the entrance of Great Hall waiting for Hermione. Everybody was excited and refreshed, and then there was Harry in a lather. He hoped that his close friends wouldn't leave him alone but the moment Hermione arrived, he knew that his fear will come to pass. He immediately felt like he was disrupting a date.
For the first few hours, Harry felt included and they actually talk to him. Still as time pass by, he was slowly beginning to feel out of place. Hermione and Ron was all lovey dovey -- exchanging loving gazes to one another and suddenly giggling, which Harry didn't understand at all. He love his close friends dearly and he badly want them to have their moment. The only issue is that he doesn't know where to actually go. At that moment he decided that he'll just drink, what could go wrong?
"Hey guys, I'm just going to grab a drink and probably find our friends," Harry said as he stood up.
Hermione frowned. "Are we making you feel out of place? If we were, I'm sorry. Perhaps we can--"
Harry chuckled and waved his hand in reassurance. "Hey you're not, alright? Relax, I'm just going to drink. Besides might as well enjoy the party now that I'm here right?"
