renjun had a couple of batters before he got to bat so renjun was coming up with a plan.

"hey renjun, how'd you read that hit?"  renjun who was placing the helmet on his head stopped and turned to look at taeyong.

"awe. are you worried for your brother?" renjun teased and taeyong smacked him.

"shut up!" renjun chuckled before putting his batting gloves on.

"it's pretty simple. ask your brother. he asked me the same thing. it's creepy." renjun said scrunching his nose before going on deck as johnny made a base hit.

chenle made his way to batters box and threw johnny's bat to renjun. renjun ran to place it in the dugout out as mark wasn't paying attention.

renjun was looking at the places to hit and he chose left.

not because jeno was there but because he recognized the left fielder.

chenle was unintentionally hit which gave renjun flashbacks.

renjun shook out the thoughts and went up to batters box.

the fourth pitch was renjun's pitch.

his bat made contact with the ball and went down the third base line.

renjun ran past first and as he rounded second he was going to chance it at third but realized he shouldn't.

he let johnny score. seeing chenle was a bit behind due to the hit, renjun decided to distract the left fielder with the ball.

renjun pretended to run to third.

although renjun hated to do this, knowing the pickle was jeno and jaemin's only weakness. he immediately threw himself in one.

renjun remembered really well why he stopped pickles.

"fuck it." renjun whispered to himself.

"two!" renjun heard the outfielder call out but he knew it would be the opposite.

renjun slid to second and popped up immediately to avoid any major injuries.

"safe!" the ump called and the ball was returned.

renjun dusted himself off and looked ahead to coach moon.

renjun saw coach moon shake his head and sighed.

"you know." renjun looked up and saw jaemin standing beside him.

"there were other choices." jaemin said and renjun hummed.

"where's the fun it that?" renjun chuckled lightly as he removed his batting gloves.

"you're going to hurt yourself more." jaemin said and renjun winced.

"i'll be fine." renjun looked over to mark and nodded.

"renjun." jaemin warned.

"i'm fine jaemin really. please." renjun begged and jaemin sighed.

"okay. do as you please. hell if i care." jaemin scoffed and renjun sighed.

"be careful tonight jaemin. the team can go a little rough sometimes."

"i can take care of myself."

"jaem-" mark made contact with the ball and renjun waited for coach moon's signal.

coach moon threw him a two three which symbolized a slide to third.

renjun immediately ran to third and slid.
