It was oddly silent in the Avengers compound this early in the morning, Wanda thought just about that while sitting at the kitchen counter sipping peacefully her cup of freshly made coffee, enjoying this rare moments of silence. The brunette have had problems sleeping in the last few months, the events surrounding Ultron and her brother were still fresh in her mind, causing nightmares to haunt her at night, waking up in the middle of the night with tears streaming down her faces and her room completely destroyed by her uncontrolled powers while sleeping. The atrocities she and her brother did only to seek revenge on Tony Stark were what made Wanda ashamed of herself most.

Her bother...

She missed Pietro dearly. They took the wrong path and sided with Ultron, simply blinded by revenge, and the things they had done will haunt Wanda forever, but the fact that they both came to their senses and protected their people, Pietro sacrificing himself to save Clint and that kid in between, gave her hope. Hope to continue on this path and use her powers for good.

Her powers...

A shiver ran throughout Wanda's body at the painful memories of their time with HYDRA and at their stupid selves for letting those insane people experiment on them.

But she was an Avenger now. Even if she was still a little bit cautious around Tony, the genius proved to her that he really wasn't a monster like they had always depicted him during their years of planning their revenge on him and he was really doing his best to do good for everyone. He's also trying his best to let the Sokovian girl to warm up to him to be friends with her - she was getting closer to that-. Not to mention that she was immensely glad for the team to let her join them to do good and redeem her soul, especially after everything she put them through from messing up with their minds.

She apologized profusely for that, stating over and over how really sorry she was for what she did to them. Searching their most painful memories and fears and sticking them to the forefront of their minds was a really hideous move, one that she will never get tired to apologize to. And she won't stop apologizing for her horrible behavior, despite the team's members assuring her they already forgave her.

The most painful memories she found in the Avengers' minds were Natasha's ones, buried and stashed away in the deepest and most hidden part of her head. It shocked Wanda at the amount of pain the redhead had to endure during all her life and it appalled the brunette even more at the fact that the redhead never let it show, not even a tiny bit, always putting up a strong façade and hiding all away with witty remarks.

Natasha... god, Natasha.

Wanda lost count of how many times she apologized to her. The redhead didn't acknowledge her the first two weeks she moved with the Avengers, purposefully avoiding her every chance she got. Every time Wanda entered a room, the spy was already halfway out of the door, almost running into the elevator her to take to her floor.

Only two weeks after her arrival at the compound, the redhead listened to Wanda's rambled apologies. The Sokovian girl was shocked to say the least when Natasha walked into the gym while the brunette was working out on the punching bag, setting herself behind it to hold it still for the witch to deliver punches and giving her hints here and there every time the girl landed the punch wrong. After a few more minutes Wanda couldn't stop fighting her mind screaming at her to apologize to the Russian, so she halted her movements altogether and let her apologies flow out of her mouth like a flooding river. The redhead didn't interrupt her not even once, listening carefully on what the other girl needed to say and when she was done, Wanda saw her signature small, warming smile pulling at the left corner of her lips and accepted her apologies, reassuring million times for the next five days the still unconvinced witch that she really forgave her.
