The Apocalypse... // Dsmp Apocalypse Au

Toby's POV:

It was a regular sunday afternoon, the sun was shining, the birds tweeting outside, flowers in full bloom. I was on a call with a friend of mine. He was just an online friend of mine, and he wasn't comfortable sharing his name, so I just call him "R".

My roomate, and bestfriend, Tommy came rushing in.

"Toby!"
He shouted, out of breath from running.

"One second R" I said, deafening on discord.
"Yeah Toms?"

"Look at the news, RIGHT NOW!"
He yelled.

I could hear the concern in his voice, this was serious.

I turned on the news on another tab, and watched as Tommy leaned over the chair.

Attention citizens
A virus called the "T-virus"
has just been released to the public. Stay in your homes and do not go outside. Side effects of this virus includes: Brain rot, skin rot, circulatory dysfunction, and reanimation. Please do NOT interact with the infected, scientists are working for an antidote.

"Holy shit.."
"Holy shit.."
Tommy and I muttered at the same time.

I quickly went back to discord, undeafened, and said to R

"Dude, have you seen the news?!"

"Yeah, just saw it.."
he said.

"Theres a fucking zombie outbreak! What the hell are we gonan do?!"
I said, slightly raising my voice.

"Calm down Toby, I'm sure we are gonna get through this"
R said, trying to calm me down.

"Hey Toby, I'm gonna get supplies from the store real quick. Stay safe"
Tommy said, grabbing his backpack and rushing out the door.

"BE SAFE TOMS!"
I yelled, hoping he would hear me.

There was a moment of silence.
Neither I or R knew what to say.

Until finally, R spoke.

"You live in Bognor, right Toby?"

"Yeah?" I was confused, R knew I lived there.

"It takes me 2 hours to get there by car, My parents are on a month long buisness trip so..."

"Are you implying that you're gonna...?"

"Yup."

"How will I even know its you? I haven't even seen your face?"

"Well, it's not everyday a 6'6 teenager shows up at your door"

"I- yeah, hard to argue with that"
I said with a small laugh.

"Alright, I'll bring supplies My dad has a gun safe and I know the code for it."

"YOOO GUNS?!"
I yelled, probably a bit too excitedly-

"Yup. Guns."

"Alright, well, I'll see you once you arrive. Bye R!"

"Bye Toby"

I ended the discord call.

I didn't even know R lived in the UK. He's American so I just assumed he lived there.

I spent one hours boarding up windows until Tommy came home. Then we made sure the generators were working and changed out all the light bulbs.
We restocked the refrigerator and cabinets.

Knock knock knock

"Who's that?" Tommy asked.

His expression was a mix of concern, shock, and fear.

"It might be..."
I began to say, but more knocking cut me off

Knock knock knock

I peaked out a small area in the boarded up windows.

"Yup, thats him" I said.

"Who?-" Tommy asked while I opened the door.

"Hi boss man" I said to R, greeting him and letting him in.

He was wearing a half black half white face mask and sunglasses. His hair was black but it appeared to be dyed as his roots were growing in a brown-ish tan colour.

"Holy shit he's tall-"
Tommy said, astonished.

"Haha- yeah, I'm 6'6"
R said, chuckling a bit.

He set down a giant black bag.
I assumed it had the Guns in it.

After R, Tommy, and I talked for a bit we went to sleep.

We made sure all entries were locked and boarded up, and all sources of light were off.
