It was surprisingly a bright day. The sunlight that elegantly peeking at her windows while the white soft silk of her curtain dancing ever so gracefully with the soothing breeze of the morning. She was now facing her human size mirror that stick on the corner of her room where she smoothly traced the hem of her clothes, side glancing every curvy edge of her body. She was wearing a white bottom up long sleeve dress with a big ribbon in the middle that tucked in a blood red pencil cut skirt that shaped her wide hips ever so modestly. She took a long breath before nodding her head, satisfied with choice of clothes hiding her constant thoughts of what might possibly go wrong in this day. She got out of her room, grabs water in her kitchen ref and proceeded to take a hold of the white long folder that was rested leisurely on the table of her living room. She opened the file and checked if there’s any mistakes on it, nodded at herself again after leaving a soft sigh in her lungs and then opened the door and headed outside her house. After paying the taxi with a smile on her face, Nagi looked up at the tall building before her that covered with glass windows that shouted luxury. To say that she was troubled in getting a step forward is the least because to be honest, with the number of people entering and out of the huge entrance of the company looking so busy, she second thought of backing out. She took several long breathe to calm her nerves but that was not even helping.
If you’re wondering why she was standing here all so nervous and dressed up well because she was having her interview today. After she got home five days ago from what happened with her to whom Lucas taking her back to her house, Lucas, the man she met when she unexpectedly need a company to be with. The stranger who treat her ever so softly like the gentleman he is. She may not express her gratitude because she was a mess that time, she promised herself to thank that man someday if destiny will let them meet again. When Lucas drop her in front of her house that day, she caught a fever and had never finished her audit report. As a result, she was fired by her boss the night after her absence. She knew it already that it will eventually happen since they never get along well with her boss for a long while. She didn’t cry that time when she heard it over the phone; she was hella happy about it because finally she won’t get unreasonable shouts and degrading words from her. It’s been five years of coping up with her and it was good to unleash the spell. Instead that night, while her whole body was tucked with numerous numbers of blankets giving her a sort of warmth, she took her laptop and applied for jobs suited for her.
After a few moment of battling with herself, she let out a final breathe and proceeded walking forward. The guard open the door for her and she humbly smiled back not forgetting to side glance the aesthetic design of the big living room, chandeliers that holds so much diamonds that hang on top of it. She walked a little to stop at the counter and asked the beautiful blonde woman behind it for the direction where the interview will be held. The elevator was quite big; the sides mirror the people inside and the buttons are covered with gold numbers. She pressed the number seven and waited for the elevator to arrive at that floor.
When she heard the familiar ‘ding’ as the elevator door opened for her, she stepped outside and gasp at the long line of applicants that welcomed her. They were all looked like someone who should not be underestimated, eyes staring holes at her fucked up self with their eyes judging her with ‘fuck off you don’t belong here’ face. She just averted her eyes on the floor and decided to sit on the last available chair on the line while fixing her dress a little and patting her shoulders mentally. You can do this Nagi.
She was busy mentally preparing herself for possible questions when someone called her name that she had not noticed that she was next in line. With a long sigh, she stands on her toes and walk inside the two floor to ceiling wood door. There seated four gentlemen, two man with wrinkles on their foreheads, gray mustache covering their upper lips as a sign of their aging selves and the third one was in his late forty’s deeply staring, scrutinizing her features with his light brown silk suit outshining the oldies and the last one that can’t be seen due to the long folder he’s reading, that covered most of his face. One of them cleared his throat and nodded at Nagi to give her the permission to start her introduction.
