Chapter 28

After I got off the phone I went straight upstairs to start packing.

This sucks. I finally get some time with my mate and now I have to leave.

I walk over towards my closet and grab a few sun dresses and a few business looking clothes. I want to look nice and professional but if it comes down to it, I can definitely pull out the innocent girl card.

I pulled a pair of black pumps and some white strap sandals that will go with all of my sundresses.

I grabbed a few more things from my small bathroom and shove them into the suitcase.

Taking a deep breathe I moved down the hallway to chases room to tell him I was leaving.
I was almost there when I was stopped by Ranger.

He was scratching the back of his hea awkwardly and wouldn't look me in the eyes.

"Hey, what's up?" I asked

"Nothing I'm sorry, I can see you are busy I will leave you alone." he said and walked down the stairs.

Well that was weird.

I walked the rest of the way down the hall to Chase. I knocked and whe. I didn't get a response I just walked in.

chase was sleeping, in his hand was one of my shirts gripped to his face. A smile crept onto my face, despite how creepy it might seem, it was also so very sweet.

I set my suitcase by the door and walked to sit on the edge of his bed I brushed some hair out of his face and gently place my lips to his.

His eyes opened and he smirked, "well hello. you know I co-"

I cut him off, " yeah I know you could get used I being woken up this way yada yada. look I need to talk to you."

"Wait Maggie, you sme-" he tried to interrupt me.

"I don't have time right now chase. I have to go to The silver moon pack. Alpha Andrew just called to tell me. I'm leaving now." I leaned down and have him another kiss before leaving the room.

A low growl came from his throat as I closed the door and I could tell he was going to try and come after me but I was in too much of hurry to try and figure out why.

I ran past my brother yelling a goodbye before sprinting the down the stairs and exiting the house.

I jumped in the truck and strted to drive.

I felt a buzzing coming from my pocket and decided not to answer. I don't have time to chat I have to get to the meeting at soon as possible.

2 hours later....

I finally arrived at alpha Andrews pack and slot climbed out of the truck and up to the front door.

It swung open and I was face to face with a man that looked to be around my fathers age. he was attractive in an older guy way, with brown hair and pieces of gray sticking out in strange ways and deep brown eyes. he was in shape but that was obvious from constant activity. he bags under his es and I could tell from the power radiating off of him, that this was Alpha Andrew.

"Hi, I'm Andrew, Alpha of the silver moon pack its a pleasure to meet you." he said and stuck his hand out.

"Hi, I'm Maggie Luna, and as of right now until my mate is better, alpha of the Blood moon pack." I said sticking my hand out to shake his.

"Of course you are the only female here, come in and meet everyone. in your condition you shouldn't be standing around for too long." he said taking fm bag and leading me inside.

My condition? What the hell does he mean my condition?

"Down the hall and to the left in the conference room, I will place your bags in your room, third door on your right at the top of the stairs. Go meet the other alphas an we can try and get all of this over by tomorrow evening, I'm sure your mate doesn't like being away from you like this."

I thanked him and made my way down to where the other alphas waited.
Have you ever walked into a room and everyone just stands and stares? Or at least seen it happen in a movie?

Well that's what happened to me. I made my way past all of the men standing up out of their seats and staring at me as I made my way over to where my seat was.

There were 10 other alphas in the room and the testosterone wa shoving me a headache.

Then almost all at once they were talking to me.

Chad alpha of the bright mountain pack

Justin alpha of the silver river pack

Camden alpha of the Black Forest pack

Jared alpha of the river torn pack

Shawn alpha of the silver bullet pack (ironic right)

Keith alpha of the river moon pack

David alpha of the blood mountain pack

Zachary alpha of the silver mountain pack

Nathan alpha of the black moon pack

And

Jordan alpha of the black river pack

Then of course there is alpha Andrew and myself.

Andrew walked into the room, and the introductions stopped as business came to order.

For the most part the meeting Consisted of things that had been marked to change last year in each of the packs. We sat and Lauren's dad each alpha talked of what they had down to meet the requirement set last year. Chase hadn't told me why requirements we were suppose to meet but based off of what wa said atound te room I knew ours had been met I just didn't know how. so when the conversation was led back to me I answer the best I could.

By the end of the meeting it was nearly 2 in the morning and I was exhausted

I made my way up the stair and into my room. I collapsed on the bed and went to sleep without changing.
