CHOIR ROOM
The New Directions were gathered in the choir room, as Will stood in front of them, with a faint grimaced looked and a guest speaker.
Will: "Okay, guys, listen up. This is Mr. Ryan. He's a member of the school board, and he would like to say a few words. I-I just want you guys to listen critically and know that what he's saying is just one of many opinions."
Bryan: "Take out a piece of paper. And on that paper, I want you to write down your biggest dream. A dream that means so much, you're afraid to admit it even to yourself." he instructed them. The students listened to his directions and began writing down their dreams on pieces of paper. Kelly, however, struggled coming up with a word and drew some question marks on her sheet instead. Once everyone was done jotting down their dreams Bryan Ryan went over to Artie and crumpled up his paper before tossing it into the trash. "Your dream is never going to happen. Ninety one percent of you will spend your entire lives living in Allen County, Ohio. So unless you wrote down that your dream was to 'work for a mid-market health insurance provider' or 'find an entry level job in an elderly care facility,' you're going to be very disappointed."
Mercedes: "This is really depressing."
Bryan: "I'm going to guess that a lot of your dreams involve 'showbiz.' Well, let me tell you. Showbiz dreams are the most unrealistic of them all."
Tina: "But... that's what I want to do with my life."
Bryan: "Oh, look, I'm not trying to hurt your feelings, I'm just trying to spare you disappointment."
Will: "I think we get your point."
Bryan: "Aw, well, Schuester here's a prime example. He used to have that glimmer of hope in his eyes that I can see right now in all of yours." he started to say as Kelly began to see red, something Mike and Quinn noticed while sharing an uneasy look, "But he couldn't make it happen for himself, so he now has to try and convince you all that it will happen for you. Guess what? His dream didn't work out. And neither will yours." he told them as Tina started to sob and Kelly stood up officially pissed off.
Kelly: "Enough! What gives you the right to come in here and speak about him like that?"
Will: "Kel, why don't you sit back—"
Kelly: "No! I don't care who he is. No one should be spoken to like that. He doesn't know your life, Dad." she began to say, which peaked Bryan's attention, "And just because he's—"
Bryan: "Dad? This is your daughter?" he rhetorically questioned while walking over and grabbing the sheet of paper out of her hand, "Well, let's see what your dreams are. Are they like your Dad's?" he then looked at the paper and let out a hearty chuckle, "Seriously? Come on this is pathetic."
Will: "Okay, you're done here." he told him while stepping between them, and grabbing the paper out of his former classmate's hands.
Kelly: "Oh, you think I'm pathetic? At least I'm not a grown ass adult coming in and crushing a group of students' dreams as they try and survive their teenage years. At least I'm not a complete and utter di—" she went on to say while stepping closer, ignoring her dad but eventually got cut off when Will looked towards Mike.
