Chapter One

I woke from the same nightmare I've been having for the past month. Ever since I've found my mate, and she accepted me.

Yes, I did just say mate. Yes, I'm a werewolf, but before you make any assumptions about my kind, know a few things.

1- We don't share mind links. That's just stupid.

2- We don't magically turn into a werewolf at age whatever.

3- We don't get marked. Us females don't like getting bit, or claimed like property. In fact, we're in charge here.

4- Our abilities don't carry into our human forms. We can still see and smell slightly better, and we have some increased stamina, but other than that we're as weak as other normal humans.

5- When we see our mates, we don't have this instant "zomg you're my mate" moment.

6- Unlike every other werewolf story you may have heard or read, we do actually have gay pairings.

But yeah. I met Kennedy (my mate) in 9th grade. I didn't recognize it at first, I just thought she was really cute. But she just grew on me and she started to like me a year later. And that's when she recognized me as her mate. That was the happiest day of my life.

But that's when the nightmares started. Always disturbing, but I never remember any part, no matter how many times I wake up in a cold sweat, panicking. Kicking the covers off, I swung my legs over my bed and glanced at the clock. 3:29 am. Groaning, I swung my legs back onto the bed and tried to go back to sleep. No nightmare was going to keep me from sleeping.
