!TW death!
„when you first meet your soulmate, you will feel your heart ache but don't worry, it won't hurt and will fade as soon as you make physical contact with your person" my teacher told my class before finishing her talk about the most exciting moment of our lives for probably the third time that day.
My name is Cora , I am sixteen years old.
I was born and raised in a small village in England and I have not yet experienced my heartache.Today was the last day of school before our summer break. My family and I decided to go on a trip to a big city for two weeks.
The day of our departure came faster than expected, we loaded all of our things into the car and started driving.
First thing we did after checking into our hotel was look for a museum to visit and a restaurant to go to after.
My dad is a huge fan of museums and old things, so is my brother.
We stayed in that boring museum for what felt like hours looking at all the boring things, most of the time I watched videos on my phone or chatted with my friends.
All of them went on vacation in another country with their family or their soulmate.I was so jealous of them for already getting their heartache.
Day to day I wondered what it would feel like and when it would be my turn. Finally it was time to leave and we made our way down the streets, passing the antique shops and old buildings.
Suddenly it happened, I felt a sharp pain in my heart.
A throbbing pain that made my chest feel numb.
I fell to the ground clenching my hand over my chest.I tried my best to look up to alert my family something definitely wasn't right with me when I saw another girl, around my age, also on the ground, holding onto a woman my moms age while also pressing her hand onto her chest where the heart is located.
I crawled over to her, hand still on heart and the moment I touched her the pain vanished.
I looked at her.
Tears were blurring her face but after some time I was able to see her clearly. We kept staring at each other while people were already forming a circle around us after causing a scene this huge.
My parents suggested me and the girls mother that it would be best to see a doctor after what had happened.
The heartache wasn't supposed to hurt.
It was supposed to make you feel warm and happy. The doctor entered the room, took X-rays of our body and took many other tests.
The results luckily came back fast.
„Katy Wilkerson and Cora Brooks" the doctor started, flipping over his papers before continuing, „you two are definitely soulmates, no questions asked but the sharp pain you two felt is caused by Katy Wilkerson."
The doctor now handed her mother a paper, her eyes widened and started to form tears. It turns out that Katy will die soon.
Her heart had been in a bad condition without being recognized for too long.
Only a few weeks would be left.Katy looked over at me.
I felt her grip around my hand get stronger as she sank into the arms of her mother.
She was still so young, still had so much to live for.The view was heart wrenching.
We decided it would be best if Katy and I got to spend the last few days of her life together.
The first weeks were for her family but since we are soulmates, who's souls have been longing to be together for the past years, we should give them time to be together. We went to amusement parks, visited restaurants and looked at flowers in the beautiful parks in the city.
„Cora I really hate that I have to leave you so soon." Katy said as we sat down on a bench in the park. I looked over at her, I didn't know how to describe the immense pain I was feeling thinking about being all by myself again.
„I promise I'll always be with you" she said, now looking at the ground.
My vision started to blur.
Now I was even more not ready to loose my soulmate, my best friend.Over the past weeks we've grown so close.
There was always something we talked about.
With her I felt so easy.
I was surprised that a purely platonic relationship could be better than any romance I ever had.Weeks passed.
Katy kept getting weaker.
Until the clock struck zero. She was gone.
My soulmate who I had waited for all my life and would now wait for a hundred years again had left me for good. The moment she left I felt my heart begin to ache.
Not like when I first met her but like I had just lost someone that I was sure no one could ever replace.I went to the park, sat down on the bench and looked over at the empty spot next to me.
„Cora I'm so sorry" Katy whispered to herself, now only an empty soul watching over her soulmate.
She watched as Cora took out an empty pill container out of her pocket, smiling at the spot next to her.
The one where Katy used to sit.„I'll see you soon" Cora whispered.
I felt my heartache, so beautiful and warm.
Once again we were united.ʕ•̫͡•ʕ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʕ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʕ•̫͡•ʕ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʕ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʔ
