Shade Of The Moon

As the clouds drift slowly
Through the night sky
The stars peek through
The shade of the moon

As the night sky gleams
Stars blinking through the trees
Like natures Christmas lights
Simply beautiful

As the clouds stride across the moon
And light shines across the world, 
Beauty of shadow and starlight
Envelope an image in the mind

An image of beauty,  wrapped in starlight and shadow
A face reflects by the moon
A beauty belonging to no one

The beauty of the night
And the beauty of your presence
An ever shifting work of art
Out of reach,  for a time

Grasping just for a glance
Wishing only for a moment
To bask in the presence
Of the light of your face

Oh starlight face wrapped in shadows
If only I could earn your affections
And dance in the shade of the moon
And be caressed by your grace

The shade of the moon, dancing in space
Eternally graced by the love of the stars
Should i ever be so blessed
By that starlight presence.
