Hi guys, I am NOT happy with the way this story is going, so I am changing some things to make it less childish and more mature. My writing has improved a lot with my other books and my growth, and this book has needed some much needed fixes. Most of the plot remains the same, but it actually makes more sense and is easier to follow as if this would actually happen in the real world if possible. Thanks very much!

I stare up at the siege concrete building, frowning as the mass of student bodies pushes past me to get inside the walls that will hold them captive for hours.

I sigh, grip my backpack, and follow the crowd of horny, emotional, and bloodsucking teenagers.

I have decided to enroll to what humans call "high school." Apparently, it is the modern school for teenagers these days.

I am not looking forward to it one bit. Glancing at the lockers, interestingly dressed cliques of kids, the different classrooms, and the white tile floor, I raise an eyebrow.

This place seems like it sucks all the life out of its inhabitants. I really don't want to be here.

I sigh, and shake my head. Last time the hunters caught up to me, I barely scrambled away. I am weakening more and more with each new encounter.

At this point, they have caught on to my continuous survival habits. Due to living in deserted areas such as forests, plains, and even grassy fields for decades, I have too many on my tail who knows exactly where to look for me.

I need to blend in.

What better way to do it than attending high school like any normal kid? Judging by my reputation, the hunters would never even imagine me taking such an opportunity.

It's the safest bet.

I ignore the looks directed my way as I walk to the front office. These human schools have always been soft...I was raised with a much harder, stricter criteria.

This is going to be too easy, which means way too boring. And lonely.

I open the door, and step through. Clearing my throat, I wait for the woman at the front desk to notice me.

She glances up and smiles. "Hello, sweetie. Are you the new kid?" She asks kindly, and I nod, gulping a bit.

To be honest, I'm nervous. I really have no idea what to expect from a human school.

Her smile widens as she types on her computer. "Alright, your name?" She continues, and I smile back. "Arlen Tipson, ma'am." I reply, and she blinks at the polite word.

"I see we have a real gentleman on our hands. Thank goodness." She mumbles, typing away. She prints out my schedule, along with a map of the school.

"Here you are hon. And let me find one our office aid students so they can give you a tour. Killian? Are you back there?" She finishes.

A boy pops around the corner, and as soon as he sees me, he smiles weakly. "I see we have a new student. Want me to show him around?" He asks, and the woman nods.

"Yes. But don't dawdle. School started a few minutes ago." She replies and he nods, walking around the large desk to face me.

His eyes glimmer with something...familiar, but I cannot place my mind on what exactly, or why.

"If you would follow me?" He asks, sighing as he opens to door.

I take a deep breath before moving my legs. Here we go, new world.
