(Harry's Pov)
The day started out like any other day, to be honest. He woke up, got dressed, made sure his goldfish was fed and then made his way down to the docks to get breakfast for him and the children. The chilly breeze felt cool on his face, but not in an unpleasant way. The seagulls screeched over his head, but by now, he barely registered them. The streets of Eroda were empty at this time, the fishermen were already out and the other people still asleep. He passed Sally's tavern and made his way down the road to the fish market. He purchased some fresh halibut sandwiches and just as he wanted to go to the school he stopped in his tracks. The only cabin cruiser of the isle was docking at the long pier. It wasn't an unfamiliar sight, far from that, but the time was wrong. Normally, the first visitors would arrive just after ten, but at the moment, it was not even half past six! Being curious like always, Harry watched as two men got off the boat. One of them was Zayn, the principal of the school and, at the same time, the co-owner of Kieran Studio. He didn't know the other person, which was odd, considering he knew everyone that lived on the island by name. He spotted brown, nearly hazel, feathery hair that ended just below his ears but when his eyes went to the clothes of the mystery man, he nearly dropped the bag with the sandwiches. He wore a outrageously bright red hoodie with a black and white, big design on it that seemed nearly vulgar. And he didn't even wear proper trousers! He just had ugly black trackpants with two white stripes on the sides! Harry realized, he probably stared for too long, because Zayn and the weird stranger made his way across the port, right in his direction. He clutched the bag in his hands tighter, maybe as a form of defense mechanism. He tried to smile but he probably looked more like a frightened deer than anything else. "Morning Harry. I forgot to tell you, but this is Louis. A really old friend of mine. He's an elementary school teacher and he'll be staying here for a few months. I hope you don't mind that he'll be teaching the first graders for some time with you. Also, I'm really sorry that I didn't tell you sooner, but it was..", he glanced at Louis for a moment, "really spontaneous decision."
Harry couldn't believe it! Out of all years, he had to share the first graders with someone he didn't even know? He felt like he was punched in the guts by Zayn for making this decision without telling him sooner and for a short moment, he felt irrationaly angry at both of them. He snapped out of it when Louis or whatever his name was, began to talk. "Hi, I'm Louis. I look forward to start working with you. Like Zayn said, it was a really hectic time and I didn't really plan for this to happen."
Harry felt a shiver run down his spine at the sound of his voice. It was slightly raspy but high and angelic. But his personality had nothing to do with his voice. So, he's definitely still gonna hate him. He crossed his arms.
"Of course. Should we go then? The kids shouldn't have to wait."
Zayn raised his eyebrows a little at the defensive tone of his voice but just nodded. "You two go and I'll see you after school. Harry, you know the drill. Get Louis familiar with the building and stuff. And maybe show him the island a bit when you're both off. I sadly can't do it, got an important meeting with some people from the neighbor islands."
Harry nodded grimly and just walked ahead. He was aware he didn't behave like he usually would. Normally, he was the imbodyment of sunshine. But this random guy just came here and fucked his future plans up. The paperbag crinkled in his tight grip and he walked in long strides across the pavement. They reached the elementary school and Harry pushed the door open, grumpy demeneaor immideately dropping when he was faced with a group of laughing children. He ushered them to the classroom, Louis trailing behind him like a lost dog. After he handed everyone a sandwich, minus Louis, obviously, he walked back to the front and made sure everyone payed attention. "Good morning guys, I know I promised you we could go to the beach today and find some nice shells and plants but we got a surprise guest today. He'll stay with us for a few months and will assisst me in teaching you."
