chapter 2

"MINA WHAT THE ACTUAL F*CK" I shouted as Mina was smacking me in the face with my silk pillow. "Pari, it's bloody 6:30 in the morning, and I wanna get Macca's before school starts, so get your lazy ass up and take me there". Mina slammed the door to my room, I soon rose out of bed and slid on some clothes, a simple pair of black track pants and a white t-shirt, nothing special really.

Mina and I both sat in the car, Mina held her school bag in her lap, she looked like she was going to burst out of excitement. I started to pull out of the driveway, Mina started to list her chosen meal for the morning. I really couldn't care less, but I made sure to listen so Mina doesn't bash me in the Macca's car park at 7:00 in the morning.

I reversed out of the Macca's driveway, with both mine and Mina's orders in my hand as I reached the main road. "Great they forgot the Hash Brown" exclaimed Mina, "Suck it up you brat", I responded, "you literally have eight other food items in the bag". Mina chuckled as I reached the school.

We were both walking, synchronised in the main block of the school as a poster caught my glance. The poster read "PDHPE TRANSFER TEACHER PROGRAM, FAMOUS ATHLETES FROM ENGLAND TEACHING YOU!"The poster also included a photo of Chelsea's Mason Mount and Manchester United's Marcus Rashford. "Hey Mina, what is this?" I asked, while grabbing the poster in my hand "Oh yeah some random thing they are doing now, I got some player from Manchester City, his name is like Grealish or something". I immediately recognised that name, as one of her friends was a huge City fan. I nodded as we reached Mina's homegroup room. I gave Mina a hug and then walked back to the car.

"Term 4 is always the worst" I muttered to myself; I was right, the hot Australian climate didn't make the summer terms any easier, I sat down in the car seat as I tried my best to not burn myself in the steaming leather; the car has been cooking in rays of sunlight for 30 minutes.

I decided to treat myself by going to the gelato store, so going there is what I did.

I dragged myself out of my car as I reached my destination, to be once again greeted with the unbearable heat. I walked over to the counter, I ordered a strawberry sorbet, and a fruit salad (as I always do); "I'm sorry ma'am we are in quite a rush, your order may take up to 25 minutes to be served", the waiter said. "25 MINUTES?" I thought to myself, I let out a sigh and walked over to one of the stools in the store. I already started getting bored so I pulled out my phone and started my game of endless swiping through instagram; it seemed as if every other photo was Jack Grealish. "Is this a sign?" I thought to myself. 

Soon enough, my order finally arrived, the first bite I took of the sorbet tasted like heaven. I looked over to see a message notification on my phone, it was from my mum. "This must be important, she never messages me when she's having a good time" I thought to myself. I open up iMessage to see this,

Parisa, Mina has just been called in for a parent-teacher conference in 25 minutes in the PE staff office

I don't know why but I just received an email from her PE teacher on my phone now

oh ok

i'll be there then

Okay, don' t say anything stupid

"A conference? Did Mina get in trouble", I thought as I ran back to the car, as I knew that the gelato store was a good 5 minutes away from Mina's school, but I didn't want to take my chances.

I made it to the school in 5 minutes, I tried to find my way around, but it has been 6 years since I have set foot on these areas of the grounds. Eventually, I found the staff room and stood outside to wait for Mina to show up so I could go in. I leaned on the wall, staring off into the distance, I knew that it was going to be a while until Mina arrived; so I decided to catch up with someone that I haven't contacted in a while, Bianca.
